Charity; please read!
Sep. 9th, 2012 12:02 pmA friend of mine is a nursing student and they are organizing a mission trip to the Dominican Republic to provide medical aid to families in impoverished areas. The thing is, they need loads of medical supplies as well as money for the traveling expenses, and they need all the help they can get!
This is where we (you and I, all of us!) step in. I don't think I need to tell you how important this mission is! You can read more about it here, if you are interested in helping out.
Of course it's rewarding to donate just to be helpful, but you can gain even more from this! If you donate, you are entitled to request for example fic, fanart, or web design services from our volunteers! You can check it out here.
tl;dr If you want to make me write fic for you, anything of your choice really, this is a perfect opportunity!
For every $1 donation (money or supplies) you can receive 100+ words of fic. It means with only $10 you get to 1000+ words (haha simple math I'm sure you can all do it)!

If there is something else on your mind, don't be afraid to talk to me, things are always negotiable :) Also if you don't want to request anything from me, please check out the other volunteers, they are wonderful. Or offer your own works as incentives! Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

This doesn't really change much, though! The DW account will serve as a mirror and a backup for this journal, in case something goes wrong and seeing the recent downtimes LJ has had, it might be wise to back things up. DW is still having free access (usually you need invite codes) for a couple of days now so if you want to back your own journal up, go for it! If you're confused about DW, ask away or use their FAQ. It's easy, I promise.
Everything will be posted both onrabenhorst and on rabenhorst! If you want to subscribe to the DW account, feel free, or if you rather keep reading the entries on livejournal, you are very welcome to do so! We just wanted to offer you the possibility to choose :)
Also, if you don't know the reasons behind this and the incredible LJ chaos that has ensured, there's some recommended reading here and here.
If your only issue with the new LJ update is how the blank white comment pages look now, then I suggest you try out this add-on. It at least works perfectly for me! (Goodbye to font-induced headaches while reading fic, hurrah!)
