A big bowl of popcorn lands quite unceremoniously right on Kibum’s lap and snaps him out of his thoughts. Startled, he looks up from the gossip magazine he’d been focused on and right into the grinning face of his boyfriend. Taemin looks more than a little gleeful, his eyes sparkling as he pushes Kibum’s shoulder lightly. “Move your big butt and make some room for me.”
The words make Kibum sputter indignantly and he grabs the bowl, threateningly mimicking throwing it right into Taemin’s face. All he gains as an answer is a happy burst of laughter though and Taemin doesn’t wait for him to move but instead sits down already, so close he forces Kibum to scoot over a few inches. There’s no need to be so glued on to one another though, not when there’s the whole length of the bed to use and Kibum’s butt hardly is quite that wide.
“What are we watching?” Taemin asks then, reaching over to grab a handful of popcorn. He stuffs it all into his mouth at once, creating a perfect impersonation of a squirrel.
Kibum scowls, trying to look disgusted instead of making adoring moony eyes at the younger boy. He refuses to look that whipped. Even if he pretty much is. “I thought you wanted to pick a movie so you wouldn’t need to sit through another two hours of horrible artistic crap that makes your eyeballs bleed acid?” He makes air quotations with his fingers at the description, quoting every single word straight from Taemin. His memory is impeccable, when he wants it to be.
There’s nothing but that same, almost infuriating bright grin stuck on Taemin’s lips. “Yes but I know you’ll end up moping around anyway, until I give in and we watch another one of those brilliant descriptions of human psyche.” Now it’s Taemin’s turn to make the quotations in the air with his buttery fingers. He doesn’t waste another moment before diving in for more popcorn, although the movie hasn’t even started yet.
“I do not mope around,” Kibum says. And mopes.
This time it earns him a quick peck right on the lips, before Taemin climbs off the bed to get to the DVD shelf instead. If they were at Kibum’s place right now he’d be scolded for even trying to touch the cases with his sticky fingers but to his luck they’re his, and thus he has earned the chance to leave his fingerprints on them. “So how about… Sleeping Beauty?” He asks and the amusement is clear in his voice.
A second prior, Kibum has made the mistake to lick his lips and the taste of butter instantly makes him think of other nice things they could be doing now, like getting those buttery lips right back on his at this instant. He spaces out for a second but tries to cover it up with a theatrical huff. “When are you going to stop mocking me for that? It’s not my fault I looked stunning in that dress.”
“You did,” Taemin admits easily, already inserting the disc into the drive. He’s back at the bed a heartbeat later, again sitting so close to Kibum he has to scoot over a little bit. It looks like Taemin isn’t even paying him any attention, judging by the way he focuses on selecting the correct language and spends needlessly much time finding the ‘play movie’ option.
Kibum is already getting impatient but then suddenly Taemin’s face is right there, not even an inch from his own, those big brown eyes staring at him with unmistakeable mirth. “I like you much more like this though,” Taemin begins slowly, sliding a palm – still probably dirty from the popcorn and Kibum would scold him for staining his shirt he really would if he could make his mind work for long enough oh god when did he fall into it this deep – down Kibum’s side as if to emphasize the words.
Then there’s the taste of butter again, this time in the slide of Taemin’s tongue against Kibum’s mouth, before it melts into something more.
By the time Taemin pulls back they’re both breathing a notch deeper, Kibum’s eyes blown wide and his lips still parted.
Taemin smirks. “But I like you most when you wear nothing at all.” He slides his index finger beneath the waistband of Kibum’s pyjama pants and snaps the elastic right back in a way that makes it sting, just a bit.
This time, Kibum takes the bowl and dumps the rest of the popcorn right in Taemin’s hair.
