Title: The Deal
Author: [livejournal.com profile] fonulyn
Rating: PG
Pairing: Kaoru/Die
Disclaimer: no own
Summary: Coffee was essential for Kaoru’s mornings. Always had been, always would be. Still his pride didn’t allow him to back off when Die suggested a deal.
Comments: It’s not really that Christmass-y, but I thought that it’s sweet nevertheless :D Hopefully you enjoy!

Coffee was essential for Kaoru’s mornings. Always had been, always would be. He simply could not function in the mornings before he got his coffee and not any milk coffee, either. It needed to be honest to God black coffee with maybe a little bit of sugar in it, if he had managed to cook it strong enough. Actually his favorite type of coffee was the kind that Die liked to call “black tar”, just barely in a liquid form. But it kept the tiredness away like nothing else, at least. It was the gasoline for his personal engine, it was what kept him running throughout the long days at work. Kaoru had never even realized he had grown that addicted before Die suggested a deal for him.

I quit smoking, you cut down on coffee.

It sounded so easy, damnit. And since Kaoru had already used his ace “I’ll do anything else but quit smoking, alright?” when Die had told him he had to do something in return if he wanted him to get rid of the cigarettes, he had no other choice but to agree. He was grumbling, he was growling, he was protesting as loudly as he could, but he knew he would need to let go of his precious seven cups of coffee every day. Since that was how much he had to cut, even after he had tried to negotiate and bribe Die with morning blowjobs. He was allowed one cup of coffee in the morning, one during the day and one in the evening. That was it. And he had no idea how he was going to survive through that.

That was until he figured out a rewarding system for them both. Die was having hard times not grabbing the pack of cigarettes whenever he felt like it, too, and somehow seeing how much the other guitarist was struggling made Kaoru even more determined than before to get through this in one piece. So now he and Die had a magnetic board in their kitchen. Whenever Kaoru managed to get through a day with only his allowed three cups of coffee, he could put a mark on the board. Whenever Die managed to get through a day without cigarettes, he could put a mark on the board. Ten marks on the board meant something fancy as reward.

Knowing them, they could’ve replaced fancy with perverted to begin with. Starving for coffee or for cigarettes proved to be a real boost to their imagination. Enough that the next day they couldn’t even step out of their apartment without gaining odd looks and dirty smirks. It seemed that people could tell exactly what they had done just by looking at them.

And somehow, Kaoru was beginning to think that coffee wasn’t that essential anymore. He was sure Die felt the same about cigarettes.

"Knowing them, they could’ve replaced fancy with perverted to begin with." Haha awesome.

I miss KaoruxDie fiction so much... You guys can do what you want but I'd really appreciate a fanfic about them again, pretty please ;_;

That's just how they roll XD

I knowwww, I miss it too. The whole fandom seems to be so dead right now :/ We are going to finish Shotgun Wedding! But we don't know when. Things have been crazily busy for us lately and we find hardly any time to write together D: I'm sorry it's taking so long, but we'll try our best to finish the fic once! ♥
