Title: Black Christmas
Author:
fonulyn
Rating: PG
Pairing: Kaoru/Die
Disclaimer: I own no one, only my dirty imagination.
Summary: When it’s Christmas, it’s supposed to be a nice cool and snowy weather. At least if one asks Die. And when it’s not snowy and nice, he can’t get over it. Yet Kaoru has his own ways to deal with it.
Comments: This was written for the advent calendar of
diexkaorulove :) Actually I wrote it almost three weeks ago, when I was in the middle of my teaching practices that include me watching several lessons (for whatever reason). Anyways, I was stuck at a boring history lesson and I had nothing to do (except for *coughs* schoolwork) so I ended up writing this in the back of my notebook. Admittedly, the rainy weather and the lack of snow affected it as well. It's really short too. Anyways, I hope you like ;)
And feel free to add our journal if you like the stories!
Plus, the archive.
Black Christmas
”This sucks so much!” It was raining, dark and cold, and while they were all expecting snow Die was the one most bothered by the lack of it. He was standing by the window, arms crossed over his chest and there was a sweet frown on his full lips as he kept on staring out into nothingness. A towel was wrapped around his neck, the endings of his hair still wet as not so long ago he had still been out there, in the pouring rain.
Right now he was at Kaoru’s apartment though, and while it felt good to have dry clothes he still was brooding over the bad weather. “C’mon, it’s supposed to be Christmas soon… this isn’t a Christmassy weather at all!” Kaoru couldn’t help but to think that right now Die looked like a big kid: he was wearing tracksuit pants and a sweater that were both too big for Kaoru, and yet proved to be too short for his long limbs, making him look somewhat awkward like a teenager who grew too much and too fast. It made Kaoru smile and slowly he shook his head.
When Die opened his mouth to complain the next time, he was cut off by the older guitarist. “C’mon, stop complaining and sit down. I’ll get you something to eat in a moment.” Die was still frowning as he turned around, but it was a matter of seconds before he simply melted into a smile. Covertly, Kaoru had placed a warm blanket on the backrest of the couch, where it was waiting for Die, invitingly. Kaoru even gave him a soft smile, before just vanishing into the kitchen like he had promised.
With a happy little sigh, Die took three long steps and plopped down on the couch, pulling the blanket close to wrap it around himself. Warmth was seeping into his bones, finally, making him relax. A small ping from the kitchen told him that the microwave oven went off, and somehow that made him smile even more. He knew Kaoru wouldn’t really cook, he wasn’t really capable of that without burning the whole place down, and would instead warm some frozen instant-food, but it didn’t make it any less appreciated.
When Kaoru finally appeared with two bowls of steaming food – Die didn’t really care what it was, as long as it was edible – handing one to the younger man, Die thought that maybe this day didn’t suck that much after all.
