So be a bit patient and then you get an epilogue^^ Stay true!

[livejournal.com profile] fonulyn: Okay, so the end is finally here. The mushy, lovey, gooey end XD I hope you’ll all enjoy this and that it was worth the wait! We were already talking of the epilogue and I think it’s safe to promise one, but you’ll have to wait pretty long for it though, all these things coming up in between with the D/K Oktoberfest (which screams for more participants! *hint*) and all. Anyways, please do enjoy :D We at least enjoyed writing it XD

Chapter 11: Unexpected

One week from then, the final exams would start and within a month, Kaoru would be done. Then, he would have to leave his boyfriend for a long time and that thought alone hurt him. For some reason, he would want everybody to know that they were a couple, so that the secret hitting on Die would stop, that they both would be honest with others and themselves.

"Aw, but I want to, so much." Die honestly meant it and one could see it in his eyes, in the slightly desperate expression. Carefully he sneaked a bit closer to the older teen, leaning against him. "It's just that your parents still don't know, and neither does anyone else. I... I wouldn't wanna cause mom and dad any troubles with it, especially since they're so cool with everything." He knew it might sound like a lame excuse, but he really didn't want to cause any troubles or bad encounters for his parents.

Actually, it made perfect chance in the older teen's ears and he nodded faintly. "You're right." His voice was quiet, a bit choked. "We can't be selfish and just do as we please. And you're right with my parents." He looked up, forcing a smile on his face. "You're so much more clever than me," he whispered and gave the other teen a small kiss.

"Am not." Die argued, shaking his head a bit. There was a grin on his lips though and he instantly stole a deeper kiss. "I love you. And you now promise me to have much fun even though I can't be your date."

"I will have much fun sipping on alcohol-free punch, standing at the side while all the others are on the dance-floor and secretly try to push their hands underneath their date's blouses," Kaoru snorted sarcastically.

"Hey!" The redhead slapped the other's head lightly. "Don't try to make it sound worse than it really is, you hear me? I promise, if it turns out sucky we'll have our own party afterwards to compensate, just the two of us."

That made Kaoru smile widely and he nodded. "Okay, I take your word for it." Again, he leaned in to kiss his boyfriend and after that, kissed him again while pushing him down on the mattress. There wasn't much time for togetherness since the prom and Kaoru was determined to make the most of it. They both were, and they used every single moment they were able to just to steal some time alone. They were still as much in love as before, if not more, and it was getting harder not to be able to see so often.

What got them through it all was that they were completely devoted to each other and when they were apart they lived on the memory of the last meeting as well as with the anticipation for the moment when they'd meet again. They wouldn't have thought it, but the exams ate up more of Kaoru's time than summer school. Longest, he wasn't sure if he only worked to step out of the shadow of his brother anymore or if it was because he didn't want to disappoint Die. After all, he had been skipping the possibility to be with the redhead often because of his studies. Wouldn't it make their relationship worth less if he now just slacked off? So he worked harder than ever, wanting to be the best of his age-group.

Die was totally amazed of how much determination and force Kaoru was able to put into things when he really set out to it. That was something he never had known how to do, to concentrate on one goal for long enough to gain results from it, and he truly admired Kaoru for possessing the talent. Otherwise too he was so proud of his boyfriend, even caught himself babbling to his mother about how great results Kaoru had once again gained or how hard he had been working again.

Yet, he aught himself being sad because he really would have wanted to go to the prom with his boyfriend, would have loved to show how proud he was at the fact that Kaoru had asked him to be his date although there was a whole bunch of girls ready to drop their companies at one word from the student's council. So the less the two managed to meet each other and the closer the prom came, the more quiet the redhead seemed to become. One evening after school, Mrs Andou couldn't bear his utterly depressed face anymore and asked. "What's wrong, Die? Something between you and Kaoru?"

"No no," Die shook his head instantly, trying to fake a smile. "Everything is just fine. Except that he's studying so much and I hardly see him." He fell silent for a while, looking out of the window deep in thoughts before turning to look at his mother again. "And he's gonna have the prom soon too..."

"Will he go there alone?" Mrs Andou asked curious. Her expression had changed, had become serious and she asked herself why Die was so quiet as that didn't seem to be sufficient for a reason.

"Yeah." The redhead nodded, letting out a huge sigh that already told what was wrong even before he said it out loud. "He asked me to be his date, you know."

"Oh he did?" His mothers eyes were sparkling and she sounded utterly enthusiastic. Only at the next second, she realized what her son had said. "I see. And you declined, right?"

"Of course! How could I agree on it even though I'd love to..?" Die plopped down to sit on the nearest chair, looking somewhat miserable. "After that people would never stop talking."

"Is that all that's bothering you?" the woman asked. "The opinion of some strangers?" Sighing, she circled the table and took the chair opposite to her son. "Look Die, every once in a while one has to take a hard decision in life and you have to make up your mind about what is really important and what is not."

"But mom," He raised his head, looking her seriously in the eye. "It's not only about me and him. You and dad would have to deal with it too... If it'd be only about me I wouldn't have even thought twice before going with him!"

"And what makes you think your dad and I can't deal with a bit of gossiping?" she asked sharply. "You could've asked us, you know."

"Asked you how?" Die rolled his eyes frustrated. "Like 'hi mom, my boyfriend wants to take me on a public date, I hope you're prepared to be the weirdoes of the town'?"

"Well 'hey mom, Kaoru asked me to be his date at the prom and I would really love to go, but I'm afraid it'd cause you too many troubles' would have done it already," Mrs Andou retorted. "What did you have to lose? There couldn't have been more than a 'no' for an answer."

"Yeah." The redhead sighed and he saw the flaws in his logic now that they were pointed straight at him. "I thought it'd cause too much trouble for you. And I already told him 'no'..."

"When is the prom?" his mother asked and then smiled.

"Already next Friday." Die informed without even having to think about it.

"And he'll go all alone now?" she reassured. After receiving a faint nod as an answer, she went on. "Why don't you surprise him then? Put on your best fitting suit and then drag your bones there to show everybody that he's with you." She was smiling again, taking his hand in hers. "Don't bother about people's reaction. I will tell dad and we will be able to deal with it."

"You really mean it?" There was something much like hope in the redhead's eyes, a sparkle somewhere deep within, and a small smile was tugging his lips. That would be totally awesome and he knew Kaoru would like it too if he came there for him.

"Of course I do." His mother rolled his eyes. "I wouldn't have told you otherwise. I will talk to your father and the rest is upon you. I won't force you of course, but one day you will have to stand to yourself anyways."

"You're the best!" Die couldn't hide how much he loved the mere idea and jumped up from his seat to hug his mother tight. "I will have to try if I still fit into my suit! And it needs to be washed maybe too."

"Maybe," his mother beamed, "I can convince your dad to open his wallet and we can go and buy a new one." Seeing her son happy was all she wanted, the most important thing in her and her husband's life. "I could tell him that it's necessary since you have to buy one for your own prom next year." With a wink, she added. "We don't need to tell him you're still probably growing."

"And you think he won't know it even without us telling him?" The redhead laughed, but nodded several times then to show his mother he was all up for the idea. "But it has to be soon! We don't have more than a couple of days anymore before it."

"I will talk to him right away when he comes home. And," her eyes were sparkling, "even if he knows you're still growing, I don't think he'll deny me this wish." Dreamily, she tugged the collar of his shirt as if she was binding a tie. "You'll look so stunning in a suit."

"That's what I'm counting on." Die confessed with a chuckle. He wanted to look as good as possible, wanted to really surprise his boyfriend and make him happy. Kaoru had looked so down when he had declined the invitation to be his date, and he kind of wanted to make it up for him now.

His mother kept her word and talked to her husband about the whole matter. The very same evening, Mr. Andou entered his son's room after knocking once. He told him that it was his choice and if he wanted to go to the prom, if he was really serious about his relationship to the other boy, he and his wife would always support him. After the small speech, he handed Die his credit card, telling him to find a new suit where the legs wouldn't be too short like in his old one. He also said how happy he would make his mother if he took her with him shopping.

Die thanked his father like half a dozen times until he finally went to bed to get some sleep before the shopping trip the next day. He ended up staying awake most of the night though, planning everything in his mind and too bouncy to sleep. For the first time in his life he free-willingly asked his mother to accompany him to do the shopping, and didn't even mind that Erika forced her way with them, thinking she might earn something new and nice as well.

Before they returned home that evening they had a brand new suit for the redhead and he really looked stunning in it. His mother had even shed a secret tear at the fact that her little boy was growing up so fast. "Too bad we can't get a picture of you and Kaoru together," she had said more than once. "But if there's the possibility, you could ask somebody to take one, right?" That seemed to bother her more than the possibility that their family could become the mock of town. She knew better than to think that this could force her family apart. They all loved each other too much.

"I promise mom, I'll get someone to take a picture!" Die assured, secretly thinking that he would love to get a some sort of memory of the day for himself too. He felt a bit like a girl, getting ready for the prom and doing all this shopping with his mother and sister, but he was in such a good mood that he couldn't bring himself to mind.

It wasn't even hard to keep the plan secret from Kaoru as he only saw the older teen shortly in the evening that day, long after all the shopping was safely done. It would be the last time before the prom, because they would first get the results of the exams and then Kaoru would have to attend some sort of family celebration with his parents. His older brother had excused himself, but he had to attend some important exams too. So instead of being with his boyfriend, Die would spend the next day with Kyo. It was free since the low grader had already finished their exams and their autumn holidays began a bit earlier.

Kyo was all up for the idea when Die told him he'd go to the prom as a surprise for Kaoru. He didn't seem to worry at all that his best friend was about to come out of the closet officially; and if he did worry about it or it bothered him, he at least didn't let any of it show. Die on the other hand was getting more and more bouncy and enthusiastic with every passing moment, unable to cover how much he was looking forward to the whole party.

Only when the redhead was all dressed up and ready to get going he was beginning to get nervous too, thinking that what if his boyfriend wouldn't like him to appear there after all? The rational side of him told that it was just nonsense and he didn't seriously even consider backing off.

All the hard work paid off for Kaoru and he really made it as the best of his class, fourth best of the country. This was all he had been living for up until the day he had met the redhead, but somehow he couldn't really celebrate his victory as his boyfriend wasn't there. Still, he instantly sent him a text message to tell him the great news as he had to go to the family party right after the announcement of the grades. Everything seemed to pass by like in a haze though, the congratulations, his grandfather who gave him a nice amount of money and even the fact that it didn't take long before everybody began to talk about his brother and how it had been when he had finished his exams. Nobody ever mentioned the fact though that he had only been sixth best of the country.

It was no secret that Kaoru didn't look forward to the prom, especially since his mother couldn't understand why he had decided to go alone and not with one of the cute girls who worshipped the ground he was walking and, of course, came from a good family. His mother kept on bugging him about it until Kaoru somehow managed to escape and hide between the relatives so his mother couldn't go on asking him stupid questions all the time. Time seemed to almost stand still for both Die and Kaoru but for slightly different reasons. Kaoru was counting hours until the prom would be over and done with, while Die counted hours until the time it'd begin and he could actually go there to surprise his boyfriend.

In the end, it came quicker than expected and before Kaoru even knew what had happened, he was standing in a ballroom filled with students of his grade. He knew almost everybody from his work as a student's council, but some faces seemed unfamiliar. Those were probably the dates. Lost in his thoughts, he watched the people on the dance-floor, sipping on his alcohol-free punch.

Die was somewhat late, as he really hadn't wanted to make a big spectacle out of his arrival and rather wanted to slip inside when no one would notice him immediately. He truly looked good in the new suit though and as soon as he stepped into the room he collected some looks, whether he wanted them or not. There was only one person whose reaction he was interested in though, a bit nervously he searched the crowd for Kaoru with his gaze.

It took a moment, but then something caught the older teen's attention and he turned his head. When he spotted his boyfriend, his heart skipped a few beats and a smile crept on his lips. So Die had decided to come despite all rationality. Slowly, he moved through the crowd towards him and all Kaoru could do was to stare. As soon as Die noticed that Kaoru was looking at him he flashed a bright smile, and winked at the older teen across the room. He even quickened his steps a bit, not stopping although several of his friends or acquaintances tried to gain his attention.

When he was standing right in front of Kaoru, their chests almost touching, he wordlessly leaned down and initiated a deep kiss that left no doubt of their relation to each other. Kaoru's heart shot up and began pounding in his throat, but he didn't pull away. Quite the contrary, he even sneaked his arms around his boyfriend's neck, tiptoeing to be able to deepen the contact still. He was very well aware that all eyes were on them, but he didn't mind as nothing seemed to be important anymore at that moment. "I thought you are afraid of peoples' reaction and the troubles it'll cause for your family?" he asked breathlessly after they had parted.

"Mom told me to go and get my man," Die gave away with a grin, chuckling merrily. It was impossible to miss how happy he was right now, his eyes sparkling like diamonds. Everything had been worth it and he was relieved now that it was out in the open.

Even the fact that the music had stopped for a short moment and all one could hear was the whispering and mumbling of the people around them didn't bother Kaoru and he smiled widely, practically beaming at his boyfriend's words. "I love you so insanely much!" Suddenly, the music started again and he tilted his head, looking at the redhead questioning. "How about a dance?"

"If you can bear with my totally incompetent dancing." Die chuckled, nodding a bit at the other teen. He didn't consider himself a good dancer, and surprised even himself by really wanting to dance with his boyfriend. "I bet you're perfect at dancing too," he teased winking, "Mr Perfect."

Kaoru grinned widely. "Well, of course I am." Hooking his arm with the taller teen's, he dragged him towards the dance-floor. "And I'm an incredibly good lead, so you just have to follow me like a good girl does," he teased, suddenly pulling the other one close to him, beginning to dance. There were some comments coming from the side, but he simply ignored them, hoping the others would calm down and be too shocked to cause a huge scene now. He honestly only wanted to enjoy his prom night.

The redhead soon noticed that he indeed only had to follow the lead and try not to make a fool of himself. That much he could manage with his close to decent dancing skills, and he sneaked his arms around his boyfriend's neck to hold him close. "Is there anything you can't do?" He laughed, his eyes sparkling proudly. "Gosh, you have no idea how proud I am when I can say my boyfriend is the fourth most intelligent guy of the country."

"And I'm proud to be with the most gorgeous guy in the country," Kaoru flattered him and ran his hands down the taller teen's back straight to his butt. After a moment, he became a bit more serious. "Thank you for outing us. It wouldn't have been fun at all to hang out here without you." Smiling, he stole another short kiss and then leaned his head against his boyfriend's shoulder.

"You have to thank my mom. She gave me the needed push. But gosh, I wanted to, so much." The younger one used the hold he had of the older to bring him even closer. "I love you." He was smiling, a whole flock of butterflies in his stomach of mere happiness and anticipation of what the night would bring.

Suddenly, the hissing and whispering around them grew louder and when Kaoru lifted his head to see what the problem was, he spotted Kyo coming towards them. What did the midget do there? He at least was grinning widely and seemed to be up to something. When he had reached them, he raised a camera in his hand. "I thought you want a photo. Well," he looked at Die, chuckling, "your mom told me she wants one..." Stepping a bit closer, he whispered. "And I brought some booze for the punch. This party is just too boring."

"Clever thinking!" Die praised his friend instantly, nodding at him to show he was all up for the idea. Then he directed his eyes at the camera, pursing his lips a bit. "Make it a good photo!"

"Don't worry. I'll shoot a whole album for you!" Kyo laughed and instantly snapped one picture of the two. It made Kaoru blush, but he couldn't deny that he really wanted to have a picture of this moment as well. "But you have to take a real one later, one where we are standing next to each other like parents usually would take," he pointed out.

Before Kyo had the chance to reply the redhead cut in. "Of course, but now I wanna finish the goddamn dance!" He tugged the older teen a bit to make him move. "I wasn't ready to share your attention just yet!"

"I'm so sorry, baby," his boyfriend said teasing but turned his whole attention back to the redhead. They kept on dancing while Kyo went over to the punch, waiting for the right moment to empty his vodka or whatever he had brought, inside the bowl.

It seemed to bring some more life into the party as the small blonde generously shared the punch with others. Meanwhile Die and Kaoru were finishing the dance, at least the song was about to end. Although deep down inside Die had to admit he wouldn't have minded going on for longer still. Afterwards, Kaoru grabbed his hand and pulled him through the mass of people, heading towards the door. Kyo saw it and laughed, knowing they would come back and just wanted a moment of silence to 'talk' just like some other couples there.

Obediently the redhead followed the older teenager, hardly even seeing the curious glances people were casting at them. They had certainly broken some hearts that evening, and more than one girl was now crying as she had hoped she'd be the one to finally steal the popular student council for herself. He only had eyes for his boyfriend though, didn't recognize anything that happened around him. Good thing was that he didn't hear how Kyo started talking to people, trying to sell them the idea to make Die and Kaoru prom-king and queen as something fresh.

Outside, Kaoru turned a corner and once they seemed to be alone, stopped, and pulled Die down into a passionate kiss, something he wouldn't have had the guts to perform in front of the others inside the hall. Instantly everything else simply vanished from the redhead's mind and he moved to deepen the kiss further, stepping as close to the older teen as possible. The kisses they shared were something that never ceased to amaze him and make him feel utterly good, and he initiated another one instantly when the first broke.

Luckily, Kaoru had his back against a wall, because he felt his knees go weak, his head spinning with the blissful sensations the kiss elicited inside him. "If my mom finds out, I think I will have to explain some things," he mentioned winking. "I didn't dare to tell them yet..."

"Gosh, I didn't think of that." Momentarily Die looked shocked but then his smile was back and he gave his boyfriend a wink. "Tell me if you want me to be there and defend you against their wrath."

"They will only say something like 'We never thought you could disappoint us this much' or 'Your brother would have never done something like that'." Kaoru grinned. "It's nothing I haven't heard before."

"Oh, but you were already better than your brother! The fourth best!" The redhead nodded, hugged the other one tighter for a moment and then smiled at him brightly. "And gosh, you're far more gorgeous too!"

Smiling, Kaoru tiptoed and brought his lips very close to Die's ear. "Tonight, I'm yours only," he whispered.

The words made a shiver go through the slightly taller teen, and for a moment he closed his eyes. Once he opened them again and looked at the other one he couldn't help but to tease him though, winking. "I thought you always were."

"Of course, but I meant that tonight, I want you to take me," Kaoru explained and even blushed a bit.

Die nodded, swallowing hard since the mere imagination of that made him feel things. Wordlessly he stole another deep kiss, only pulling away when they both were slightly out of breath. "We'll make it a night we won't ever forget," he promised silently.

"I won't ever forget it already," Kaoru breathed out. Then, he took his boyfriend's hand and laced their fingers, slowly leading him back inside. "C'mon, let's show them how good the two most popular guys at school look together.

"You do realize we'll make like half of the girls cry tonight?" Die laughed, obviously being in a really good mood as he followed his boyfriend inside.

"It's their fault. I never gave them reason to hope I'd go out with them," Kaoru said coldly and then smiled at his boyfriend from the corner of his eyes. "But now I want a sip of the punch before it's gone." As they entered, they instantly recognized the change of the mood since there was more laughter, the music was louder and people were bouncing around on the dance-floor less coordinated.

They headed straight towards the table with the drinks and Kyo was still there right beside the bowl with the punch. When Die took the first sip of it, he pulled a face and had to laugh, as his friend hadn't settled for only pouring a bit of the alcohol in. Curiously, Kaoru took the cup from the redhead's hand and took a huge sip. "If any teacher finds out, it'll be detention for you till the rest of your days," he predicted, but emptied the cup in one gulp.

The blonde only chuckled. "Hey, I'm trying my best to make this party worth attending. And before you two are drunk, get over there and let me take a good picture."

"Oh, the good picture!" Die agreed instantly and grabbed the older teen's arm to drag him to the spot that was pointed out for them. He really wanted the good picture, or actually several of them. "Take one kissing-shot then too!" He ordered his friend around.

Kaoru only grinned, trusting that the blonde would manage to take a few good shots of them. First there was one where they only wrapped one arm around each others waist and then Kyo began to move around them a bit, ordering them to kiss at one point. It was big fun for all of the. "But you only show your mom the decent ones, right?" Kaoru asked his boyfriend afterwards.

"Let's see." Die smirked, instantly initiating a deep but short kiss. Afterwards he was practically beaming. "And hey, she's already seen us kiss, nothing new in that department!"

"Yeah, but I wouldn't want her to show that to all your relatives and her friends," Kaoru pointed out chuckling. Then, he grabbed another cup of punch and took a sip before handing it to his boyfriend. "Kyo, you're a savior, you know," he addressed the blonde. "And I won't ask you how you managed to come inside here without an invitation."

Kyo shrugged. "I can tell you. I'm Takano's date and I will now take care of him." Grinning, he went over to the boy who was the only known gay at school and indeed asked him to dance. "That bastard..." Kaoru shook his head, laughing. "I think we really need to thank him."

Die was too busy staring after his friend and only after a long moment was able to shake himself back to reality. "He didn't..? Did he? I just never learn to understand him!" It was clear in the way he was smiling that he meant that as a compliment though.

"Well, the ways of Kyo are unpredictable." Smiling, Kaoru grabbed the other teen's hand again and pulled him close, wanting to dance. There was some whispering going on again, but this time it was because of Kyo and not because of them. "Only half an hour and we get to hear about the king and the queen," the older teenager said pondering. Usually he didn't even think about things like that, but he was pretty sure that he would be voted for the king and he simply didn't feel like dancing with some random pretty only because she had been declared queen.

"Awww, and you'll get a pretty crown!" Die was totally convinced that his boyfriend would be voted the king and he was already proud of him because of that too. And because it was HIM who had the most gorgeous date around. After stealing a short but deep kiss he went on. "Make sure not to dance with your queen too long though, I kinda found out I like dancing with you."

"Are you jealous?" Kaoru asked grinning and couldn't deny that it made him feel good to hear his boyfriend liked dancing with him because he seriously enjoyed it as well. The two drinks had made his temperature rise and he felt a little lighter, moved more carefree across the dance-floor together with his boyfriend.

"Yes!" Die had no problems in admitting that and he chuckled a bit, pulling the older one closer possessively. "And this is supposed to be OUR night and I won't let anyone spoil it."

The words caused a warm feeling inside Kaoru. Smiling, he put his hand in the back of the redhead's neck, pulling him down into a short kiss. Afterwards, he chuckled a bit though. "It's going to be a very traditional prom," he remarked winking. "Romantic, full of forbidden alcohol and with somebody losing his virginity."

"Well, but you're not a virgin in the strictest sense of the word. I think I'll have to agree on that statement nevertheless though." The younger one had to chuckle as well, unable to resist the temptation to steal another short kiss. He felt like he was walking a few inches above ground, high on love and life.

"What do you mean?" Kaoru frowned. "I am a virgin in all the ways possible." He grinned. "Touching doesn't count..."

"All the ways possible? So it doesn't count either that you've screwed me like a dozen times? Man, I'm disappointed, I thought it would've been remarkable enough for you to remember," Die winked.

"Aw c'mon," the older teen gave him a small shove, chuckling still. "I'm playing innocent here for you." Smirking, he ran his palms down the taller one's back, pinching his buttcheeks. "And about screwing you a dozen times... I have a feeling that tonight you can add one more still."

The redhead wasn't able to hold back a few chuckles anymore, and he looked definitely more than pleased about the last comment. "Oh, unless you're too exhausted when I'm done with you."

"You are quite confident..." Kaoru smiled widely. "I like that. So keep that mood and wait till I'm crowned king so you can show anybody what a gorgeous man you have." Bringing his hand to Die's cheek, he gave him a small kiss. "I would love to share that dance with you, you know. One reason why I didn't want to come here in the first place."

"But at least now we've been able to share several dances." Die smiled, and although he couldn't deny he would've loved to share that exact dance with his boyfriend he tried to keep up the happy mood. "We can live with skipping one dance in between. Just," he brought his lips close to the older teen's ear to whisper the words but a small chuckle ruined his attempts to be serious. "Don't hold her too close."

"I won't." Kaoru was smiling and pressed his boyfriend tight against himself. At that moment, a guy and a girl entered the stage, both obviously very excited. "So now we're going to see who got elected prom king and queen," the girl shrieked into the microphone. "I ask myself why they chose HER of all to lead through the evening." Kaoru shook his head, but detached from his boyfriend and took his hand in his, turning to face the stage.

"She has big boobs," Die presented his perfect solution, giving his boyfriend a grin. He agreed though that the girl was more than annoying and even winced when she went on with her high pitched voice. "I think we all already have a good guess who the king shall be this year! Not only is he intelligent and responsible, he is also one of the hottest guys at the whole school and on one of the top places of the list of most wanted guys around here."

For once in his life, Kaoru wasn't embarrassed to be called hot and whatever as he had Die there by his side and the redhead made him feel more attractive than anybody ever had done before. "So we make it short. Everybody has given us his choice and we counted all the votes. The king his year is," she looked around in the crowed before them, but then screamed. "Kaoru! Kaoru Niikura."

Kaoru only managed to give his boyfriend a small wink before he was pushed towards the stage, received a crown and a scepter and was supposed to wait for the announcement of the queen. A lot of girls in the audience were staring at him, hoping they would become queen only to get the honor of sharing one dance with the hot student's council. It didn't seem to even disturb them that he had shown up with a guy that evening.

"I bet you all are waiting for what the king has to say, but first we need to have him a pretty queen as well," the annoying girl went on before the guy who was helping her took over. "We thought that choosing the queen would be tougher since there were a lot of potential girls who might've been picked, but to our surprise, the queen collected almost, not quite but almost, as many votes as the king himself."

Die was listening to the babbling only half heartedly as he wasn't really interested in who would be the queen anyways. His eyes were glued on his boyfriend and he was smiling goofily, his heart skipping a beat when Kaoru flashed a smile at him. "This year's Ebisu high's queen is..." The boy made a meaningful pause, a drum roll emphasizing the excitement. "Die! Daisuke Andou!"

Before the redhead even knew what happened, let alone realized that his name had been mentioned, he was pushed towards the stage to receive his crown. Kaoru couldn't believe it. That was impossible as the votes for the king and the queen usually were given before the actual party. So how could this be? His glance brushed over Kyo and the very content grin the small blonde was wearing. Did he have something to do with that?

Anyhow, he didn't have the time to waste another thought about this as he was pushed next to Die in front of the mic. "So, how are you feeling?" the boy asked chuckling. Kaoru looked at the redhead from the corner of his eyes and then spoke up. "Well, surprised," he gave away, laughing. "Overwhelmed."

The redhead was pushed in front of the mic the next second and he let out a nervous laugh, scratching his neck and almost dropped the crown to the floor. Kaoru managed to catch it the last moment though, and placed it back on his boyfriend's head. Die was even blushing a bit, but there was a bright grin stuck on his face. "Well, I - I certainly didn't expect this."

The audience was laughing, and some voices demanded the dance to follow. Grinning, Kaoru bowed a bit to his boyfriend, offering his arm. Before they left the stage, he turned back to the microphone though. "And he's glad I won't be dancing with one big-boobed girl." He simply couldn't deny himself that joke, but then quickly dragged Die towards the dance-floor.

Die was protesting and would've wanted to add something but then simply allowed his boyfriend to pull him to the dance-floor and straight into his arms. He was still blushing, but actually was enjoying this more than he would've thought instead of being embarrassed to death. From the corner of his eyes, Kaoru caught Kyo who snapped a couple of pictures of them, but then he turned to look at his boyfriend, having eyes for him only. "Now this is a moment to remember," he whispered and although he knew that not everybody approved of them and some probably only thought this was one big joke, he didn't mind and just pulled the redhead closer to himself.

"Something to tell our grandchildren when we're old and grey," Die added chuckling, but then corrected quickly. "Or more likely to the grandkids of our siblings." He was practically caressing the other teen's features with his gaze, and slowly sneaked his arms around his neck better to hold him close.

Kaoru's eyes were sparkling and he wished he could stop time from passing as he would have wanted to enjoy that very moment for longer, would have loved to press pause and just hold it. "We can start with telling your mom," he suggested winking, pursed his lips and gave his boyfriend a chaste kiss.

"And she'll be so hyper about it," the redhead predicted as he knew his mother. He was certain though that no matter how happy his mother would be for them it couldn't come even close to how happy he was feeling himself right now. He had thought this'd be a lonely evening of missing his boyfriend but instead he was here, allowed to dance with him and spend the whole evening with him.

Lovingly, the smaller one brushed a strand of hair behind Die's ear. "We'll be the talk of town. I hope you know that." Still, he didn't bother and although he was sure his parents would demand a serious talk with him as soon as they got wind of this, he was prepared for it. Not tonight though, because that night only belonged to them, was theirs.

"Oh, I know. And I'm kinda glad about it since now everyone knows they have to keep their hands off my property." The redhead winked, his eyes sparkling like diamonds, underlining the bright grin on his lips.

"You're amazing." Kaoru meant it with all his heart as he had never met anybody quite like Die. Somebody who seemed to have endless faith in him and the world. He didn't want him to pretend to be somebody he wasn't and that alone made Kaoru love him more than he had ever loved anything.

If one looked closely there was a slight blush lingering on the younger teen's cheeks but he tried to shrug it off and appear casual. "I'm not, I just love you endlessly."

"Then why don't you kiss me?" the older teen asked challenging. To underline his words, he raised his chin a bit, his eyes halfway shut.

The answer didn't come with words this time, and Die only leaned closer to initiate a deep kiss. It held all the emotions from within, and the love between them was clearly visible. It caused Kaoru's heart to skip a beat and he felt like melting away underneath the touch. When the song had ended, the two remained on the dance-floor like in silent stipulation, going for another dance still.
