Chapter 10: Yes, No, Maybe

It felt like an eternity that they just spent like that, both trying to focus on breathing, on filling their burning lungs with oxygen. Finally Die opened his eyes though, a smile caressing his lips. "That was... just wow." He chuckled, knowing he sounded more than incoherent. Using the fact that their fingers were entwined, he pulled the other teenager closer to himself, wanting to get a kiss.

Kaoru smiled and complied more than willingly, allowing the redhead to kiss him deeply. "That wasn't as bad as I thought," he admitted afterwards, chuckling a bit. "You're so gorgeous." Carefully, he touched Die's cheek with his free hand. He was lying completely on top of his naked boyfriend and he used the moment to press his crotch against the other one's thigh.

The words made Die even blush but he was still smiling, his eyes sparkling. "Thank you." It didn't take him long to notice the arousal that was pressing against his thigh, demanding attention, and he instantly reacted by moving his leg to create some friction. Kaoru had been acting completely on instinct, but right now he became more than aware of the need between his legs, a low groan slipping him as even the small friction felt heavenly. Smiling, he lifted his hips a bit and brought his hand down to his groin, fumbling to open his pants and relieve a bit of the pressure.

Instantly Die helped him with the garment, doing his best to get the pants opened and off his boyfriend. His heart was beating a bit faster already as he noticed how aroused Kaoru already was, and all that without even laying his hands on himself... Kaoru noticed his reaction and blushed even more, his flushed cheeks adorning a deep red. He had closed his eyes for a moment, trying to get a hold of himself and not to act like a dog in heat, but he was so hard, that he needed more, needed some friction. So without thinking, he brought his hand to his arousal, stroking himself tentatively.

For a short moment the redhead was caught watching, hypnotized by the mere sight although not that long ago he wouldn't have thought it'd be possible. After a while he snapped back to reality and gently took a hold of the other teen's wrist, stopping him from stroking himself. "Kaoru?"

"Hmm?" The sound was somewhere between annoyed and questioning. Reluctantly, the addressed turned to look at his boyfriend's face. "What is it?" Kaoru's voice was raspy and breathless but still there was something gentle in it.

Before answering the younger one stole a long kiss, wrapping his arms around the other teen's neck. When the contact broke he searched for his boyfriend's gaze with his own, his voice a mere whisper as he spoke up. "Make love to me?"

For a few heartbeats, Kaoru looked him deep in the eyes. "Are you sure?" After receiving a nod for an answer, he almost launched himself at his boyfriend, initiating a long, deep kiss. He wanted to show the other one how much this meant to him and was determined to take it slow and to watch his reactions. A small mewl escaped Die and got lost into the kiss, but he didn't even notice it himself as his whole consciousness was directed to the closeness. He poured all of himself into the single contact; the love, the need, even the insecurity that was getting less with each passing moment.

Kaoru's head was spinning and all he could focus on was the other teen's scent, his taste, the feel of his skin underneath his fingertips and the incredible warmth that was radiating from his body. When the kiss broke, he smiled softly. "Are you really sure?" he asked again, but after receiving a glare, he rolled to the side, reaching for his backpack with his foot.

Die couldn't deny that he was nervous, could still remember the burning pain and the feeling of being torn apart completely. Still, far stronger were the love and the will to try again, as he knew it would get better, they would make it better. When Kaoru turned to look at him he instantly received a smile, as despite the fears the younger one was surprisingly calm.

It calmed the older teen down as well and he didn't avert his gaze for one second even when he poured some lube into his hand and brought it between the redhead's legs. "Just tell me when it hurts too much and I slow down or stop," he whispered before carefully pushing one digit into the warm body underneath him.

Surprisingly it didn't hurt at all and Die was beginning to relax slightly after the initial tensing. It did feel odd but that was just normal and he supposed he would eventually get used to it once. When Kaoru added another finger it still didn't hurt as much as he had remembered it would, and that was enough to calm him down even more.

Kaoru initiated another slow kiss while he moved his fingers, trying to prepare his lover as best as possible. In his mind, he told himself that they had endless time, nobody would rush them. Besides, he was searching for something inside the other teen, something that would cause blinding pleasure once touched. At least he had read about it. The first time, he had been too nervous to even remember that, to think of anything else but that he wanted to do it so badly, but this time it was different.

The lights of the lanterns was creating enticing patterns on the walls and it felt like they were in their own little universe, getting lost deep in each other. Die began to feel somewhat good even, but suddenly his eyes snapped wide open and a breathless gasp escaped him. He was arching off the mattress, instinctively trying to gain more of the wave of incredible pleasure that had just coursed through him.

At that moment, Kaoru held his breath, unable to do anything but to stare at his lover. "Was that good?" he asked, although it wasn't necessary. Reaching for the pack of condoms which he had placed beside the mattress, he fumbled for one, holding it up for the redhead to see. "You think it's okay now?" He really thought Die couldn't be better prepared, but he still wanted his agreement.

The answer was a hasty nod and the younger one had to swallow several times to gain control over himself. "Yeah, go on." He was certain that this was as ready as he would ever get, and he wanted more so badly already. "I'm ready."

Swiftly, Kaoru ripped the condom open and rolled it over his arousal. When he gently pushed the redhead's legs apart a bit, he was shaking from nervousness, but didn't know if it was very obvious. After taking a deep breath, he slowly penetrated the other one and although he had known what to expect, he was groaning loudly as soon as he was engulfed in the tightness.

Die kept his eyes shut, concentrating on the closeness and the shared warmth. It did hurt, but not quite as much as the last time and he caught himself still yearning for more instead of focusing on the pain. With a slight nudge of his hips he signalled it'd be okay to move, even speaking up just in case. "You can move, Kao..."

The words startled the older teen out of his dreams and he gave the other one a sweet smile. Steadying Die by holding onto his hips, he pulled back, picking up a steady rhythm of gentle thrusts. "Gosh, this feel so good; YOU feel so good," he uttered in between, the words needing a way out.

If it had been the same as the last time when they had done it Die would've disagreed on the first part but right now he found himself nodding, meaning it from the bottom of his heart. Although it still hurt slightly he didn't feel like dying, but found himself enjoying the intimate way they were connected and moving against each other.

It didn't take long before Kaoru was panting, only inches away from the orgasm. Still, he held back, wanted to give Die the chance to enjoy this as much as he did. He knew that it'd probably still hurt, but was determined to take Die's mind of the pain. Smiling, he pushed his hand between their heated bodies, making a delighted sound when it had reached the other teen's length and found him aroused. The touch made a long, low growl escape the redhead's throat and he closed his eyes tight to concentrate on the incredible feelings that seemed to be burning him from the inside. Instinctively he had grabbed his lover's shoulders, holding on to him tight.

Then suddenly Kaoru thrust in a bit deeper than before and in a different angle, and that caused the flash of white pleasure course through Die's being. He cried out loud, shuddering forcefully as the heat within kept just adding up. It felt like mere seconds and at the same time like an eternity, and he had honestly never felt like this before in his life. Finally the climax hit him, bliss drowning out everything else for those few precious moments it lasted.

Kaoru was totally captivated by his lover's expression, by the way he was moving. It only took a split second though and the randomly clenching muscles around his length pulled him back to reality, made him groan again and he couldn't resist thrusting into the welcoming body harder a few times. The incredible tightness brought so much friction though that his body had to surrender to it, unable to fight the pleasure that was flooding him.

A white blaze exploded in his mind, made him cry out surprised as he hadn't expected the orgasm to be this forceful and although the actual high only lasted a few seconds, they appeared like hours to him. Die had practically collapsed on the mattress and was now gasping for breath instinctively, his chest heaving. There was a moronic grin dancing on his lips though, and there were no words to describe how good he felt. And how relieved, as his fears had now proven to be in vain.

Lost somewhere in another world, the older teen held his eyes tightly closed, only focusing on the sensations that were running through him. When he looked up again though, he was smiling as well, leaned down and stole a short kiss from his boyfriend. Only then, he pulled away, got rid of the condom and rolled on his side, at the same time making sure to stay as close as possible to the other one.

Contently Die rolled closer, wrapping one arm around the other teen's waist. There was a burning feeling in his lower back but he couldn't have cared less, feeling all too good right now. "THAT was how I imagined it," he confessed after a while, a small breathless chuckle accompanying the words. "No, actually that was better than I imagined."

"It was damn good." Kaoru smiled moronically, nodding to emphasize his words. "I wouldn't have thought it can be like this, you know. I mean I felt things I can't even name and you are right," he turned his head a bit to look straight at the boy beside him, "it was much better than the first time."

"I love you." Die instantly used the opportunity to initiate a deep but short kiss, enjoying the way they were allowed to just spend the moment together undisturbed. "And see, it didn't take you long to get the idea and make it good," he added with a wink.

"Yeah, but since you're with Mr. Perfect, good ain't good enough. I wanna be the best," his boyfriend joked chuckling. Just knowing that they were all alone without needing to fear that somebody could walk in on them made him relax and forget about school for once.

"Does it make you feel better to know you're the best I ever had?" Die asked chuckling, and he knew perfectly well that they never had had anyone else than each other in the first place.

The question alone earned him a playful slap in the back of his head. "No, it doesn't. But let me assure you, you won't ever have somebody to compare." Although Kaoru tried to give his voice a warning undertone, he failed miserably, his smile and the sparkle in his eyes giving away how good he felt.

"Never?" The redhead pouted although the words made him want to grin even wider. "Not even some threesome for us?"

"My God, you're kinky!" Kaoru shook his head, wearing a disbelieving expression. "And I thought you're innocent and pristine."

"I was," Die chuckled, sneaking his arms around the other's neck to pull him into a slow, sensual kiss. "Until you spoiled me."

"Hey, wasn't it you who tainted me?" Kaoru smiled after the kiss had broken and licked across his lips, tasting his lover there.

"Whaddya mean with that?" The redhead smirked, his eyes sparkling merrily as he studied the other's features. "I didn't do anything."

"You kissed me. There under the umbrella in the rainy night, you didn't protest when I kissed you while I was already head over heels and had no choice. So it was you who tainted me," the older one presented his not very logical explanation.

"I don't really get that." Die admitted with merry laughter. "But it's alright. As long as you're with me I don't care if it was my fault to begin with."

"I love you." Smiling, Kaoru cupped the other teen's cheeks and gave him a long kiss. "And I hope we'll practice a lot still. I mean, you know, until we're perfect."

"Of course. We must aim for perfection," Die agreed instantly, his smile so bright that it almost seemed to break his face in half. He was happy, more than that.

"I swear it. They've been seen kissing at the schoolyard," the girl remarked with emphasis. "And you're sure it was Die?" another asked. Mrs Andou had been pushing her shopping cart down the corridor between instant soups and canned food, but as she heard the mentioning of her son's name, she stopped and eavesdropped curiously.

"Really, it was him. Rin saw them and they've been seen at a café together later, Die and Kaoru." The woman frowned a bit, stepping out of the shadows to face the two gossip mongers. "Hey girls!"

The two froze once they recognized her. "Oh, hello Mrs Andou." They bowed politely. "We have to go again now, sorry." But Die's mother didn't even think about letting them go. "Hey wait! What did you just say about my son?" She recognized one of the girls, Noriko Tayama. A sweet girl, who once had had a crush on Die, had even called her to ask where he spent the evenings and such. Maybe this was some kind of revenge?

"Er.. well," both girls blushed. "Nevermind Mrs Andou!" Before she could react, the two had turned on their heels and fled the scenery. Up until then, Mrs Andou had thought she knew her son, but then, if she gave it a closer look, he hadn't brought a girl home yet. At first, she had thought it was because Die was shy around them or that he was ashamed that his family wasn't as wealthy as some others in this town, but now things seemed to look different.

She wasn't mad or hurt, but curious and wanted to know more about this, get to the bottom of things. Lost deep in thoughts she finished her shoppings and went home, still thinking about the short conversation she had overheard when she was back in her kitchen, cooking dinner for her family.

Mr Andou would be away that night and Erika had announced she'd go see a friend straight after dinner, so Mrs Andou decided it would be the perfect opportunity to catch her son and have a little talk with him once Aino would be sleeping already. Right now though she kept it to herself, only smiling sweetly at her son when he appeared home, telling him the dinner would be ready soon.

Die rolled his eyes. "But mom, I told you I won't be there for dinner..." In fact, he had promised to meet Kaoru. They wanted to go to the movies together and as an alibi, they even dragged Kyo with them. So in case they were seen by fellow students, there wouldn't be any rumors about the redhead and the older teen going out on a date. Everything was planned already and he certainly didn't want to skip this. "Please mom," he begged. "I'm going to see a movie with Kyo and Kaoru."

Mrs Andou tilted her head and smiled at him. "With Kaoru? Well, then I think there's nothing I can do about it. I will leave you some food for tomorrow then." She was a bit disappointed, because ever since the holidays had begun, she hadn't spent much time with her son and felt like he was slipping away from her. But then again, he was at that age where children started drifting away from their parents and it was important for them to learn how to spread their wings. The only thing that really bothered her was that the talk would be delayed till some other time.

The redhead didn't even really notice that it seemed to bother his mother since he was looking forward to the movies so much. Although he wouldn't be able to kiss or hug Kaoru or even hold hands it still felt like a date, only with Kyo keeping them company of course.

The movie was good and they all had fun, even going to grab some burgers and ice cream afterwards. It was late at night already when Kyo parted ways with the other two, saying he needed to get going home. Die and Kaoru headed towards the former's home as well, walking closely together and enjoying the cool evening.

They were talking about everything and nothing in a low voice, but fell silent in between every once in a while as they simply enjoyed the togetherness without needing many words. Like naturally, Kaoru slipped through the gate that led to the Andou's garden, wanting to steal at least one kiss from his boyfriend in the shadows of the trees where they were concealed from the streets.

Mrs Andou hadn't intended to spy, but she had been washing some glasses in the sink and happened to glance outside accidentally. There, she could see her son and the older student kissing each other deeply. It made her blush and feel like she had just witnessed something forbidden, but it also fastened her decision to talk to Die right away. Aino was asleep already, Erika and her husband gone, so it would be the perfect opportunity to talk in private.

After a long moment, the young lovers finally managed to tear themselves away from each other, exchanging a small chaste kiss still before saying goodnight and going their separate ways. Die was smiling like an idiot, his steps bouncy as he slipped inside the house, hoping he wouldn't wake up anyone. He startled noticeably when he saw his mother standing in the doorway, looking at him. "Shit, mom, you scared the wits out of me! I thought you were asleep."

"I watched a movie on TV and had a glass of wine," she admitted smiling. Once Die had gotten rid of his jacket and his shoes, she asked him. "Would you like a glass too?" Never before had she offered her son alcohol, but she thought that he was old enough and she knew he was drinking at parties anyways, despite that the law forbid it.

One could see that Die was surprised but soon he dug out an honest smile. "Sure. Thanks." He was curious what the occasion was and what had made his mother act this weirdly. He followed her into the living room though, plopping down on the couch.

She filled two glasses and after both had taken a sip, she looked at her son with a gentle sparkle in her eyes. "So tell your old mom, are you in love?" When he rolled his eyes, she hurried to add. "C'mon, one can see it just by looking at you. You're smiling constantly and you seem so happy."

For a moment the redhead considered what to answer but finally nodded. He blushed a bit, trying to cover it by taking a sip of wine. "Yeah..." He pulled his legs close to his chest, not minding that his mother usually told him not to lift his feet on the couch.

And indeed, she glared at him admonishing, but then left it be, thinking that she could let it slip just this once. "And? Don't you want to tell me? You never bring anybody home and I was already worried that you could miss the best days of your life. Now I want to know everything!" When she looked at him like that, she appeared like a teenager herself, her cheeks flushed and even the small wrinkles around her eyes didn't make her look old.

"Mom!" Die shook his head a bit, chuckling disbelieving. "You can't ask me things like that. I bet Erika doesn't tell you about her crushes either, what makes you wanna know about mine so badly?" Inwardly he was nervous, more than that, thinking of a way out so he wouldn't have to admit that he was dating Kaoru.

"Oh, but I know that Erika's crush is this exchange student Justin who's spending a year over here," his mother gave away chuckling. She took a long sip from her glass, gazing into the distance for a long moment. How was she supposed to signal him that it was okay to date the other boy? She was certain that Die was embarrassed about it and that he would never give away anything free-willingly.

Hell, at that age, sons usually didn't talk about their crushes and dates even if they were cute girls. Besides, at that age they usually were changing quite fast. Finally, she sighed, emptied her glass and turned to look at the redhead again. "I heard some rumors, you know," she explained honestly. "That you were spotted kissing Kaoru. I know," she raised one hand to stop him from interrupting, "those are rumors and gossip, but then I saw you two in our garden just a few minutes ago..."

"Oh," instantly, Die's eyes widened and he blushed until the color of his face was matching his hair. Nervously he glanced around, as if looking for a way to escape and shifted nervously on his seat. "It - it's not how it looks like. I -" He bit his lower lip before he was able to say anything further. How could he deny his first true love like that? But he didn't know any other way as he was sure his mother would throw a fit if he confessed.

"So it wasn't a very deep and sensual kiss?" his mother asked, a hint of amusement dancing in her voice. Instinctively, she had grabbed Die's hand to prevent him from just running away, but now let go and instead refilled their glasses. There was nothing like reproach or disgust in her actions, but she wanted to give him the chance to think if he really wanted to deny everything which would hurt her more than knowing that her son was gay.

That caused Die to blush even more if humanly possible and he tried to just get a grip. To play for time he took a long sip from his glass, but finally there was no way to escape talking. "I didn't wanna tell you 'cause I was afraid of your reaction..." he admitted silently, nodding a bit. "Erika knows though. Saw us too."

His mother smiled softly. "You were afraid that I would throw a tantrum," she assumed and went on, "Die, you are our son and I thought we always gave you the security that no matter what happens, we will always love you as you are. I can't deny that it took me by surprise, but it doesn't change anything about your father’s or my feelings towards you."

"Don't tell me dad knows too." Die's head snapped up and he looked at her from widened, even somewhat scared eyes. It wasn't that he was afraid of his father really, but he didn't want to disappoint him.

"No, of course not. How could he when I found out only today?" Mrs Andou tried to calm him. "But I would like if you told him yourself. He thinks the same way I do, so there's no reason to be afraid," she went on seriously. "But don't worry, I won't inform him if you ask me not to."

"I..." Die was chewing on his lower lip for a while but then nodded. He would have to tell his father, now that his mother knew it would be only fair. "Could you be there too? When I tell him."

"Sure." The woman smiled widely as she knew that this request meant her son trusted her. Then, she hugged him tight, almost squeezing him to death. "My baby's in love!" No matter what, she knew how important the first love was and she had a good feeling that it was more serious than just a crush or a short fling.

That made Die chuckle and he couldn't even be annoyed by his mother as he was simply too relieved to see how she reacted so nicely. When she let him go of the embrace, he was even smiling at her. "And I tried so hard to cover it..."

"But there is really no need for that." The woman shook her head. "You know it's impossible to hide something from me on the long run. And your boyfriend is one gorgeous thing, so you should be proud of being with him." She knew she was overdoing it, but it was on purpose as she wanted to give Die the feeling that he really was welcome at home always, no matter what choices in life he made.

The words made the redhead blush again and he cursed that tendency of his. He was grinning though, the mere thought of Kaoru doing that to him. "He so is, isn't he? I still can't believe my luck! There'd be gazillion of girls who'd kill to be in my shoes."

"Then make sure none of them ever gets to walk a mile in your shoes," his mother suggested winking. "And remember, it was ME who made him coach you." Suddenly, she frowned. "Or were you a couple then already?"

"Hell no," Die shook his head instantly, answering honestly. "I was so mad at you for making me take the lessons and I hated the thought of him coaching me. But, for once, I was wrong," he admitted with a grin.

"See. Just listen to your mom, because she knows what is good for you." Mrs Andou laughed carefree and reached for her glass again. She would die to ask her son more intimate details, but didn't want to scare him. It was different to talk from mother to daughter than between mother and son.

On the other hand though, she doubted her husband could give Die advice in this special case and maybe she would once try to check out how much he knew about the facts of life. At least there wasn't the risk of his girlfriend getting pregnant and for some reason, she could see that as a huge advantage.

"Yeah, like eating cabbage would've done any good for me." Die rolled his eyes instantly, but couldn't get rid of the smile that was stuck on his face. "Although... Kao likes cabbage..." He frowned thoughtfully. He was really surprised of how cool his mother seemed to be with all this, and was more than grateful about it. He had feared his parents' reaction if they'd ever find out, and of course they were bound to find out once since he was determined to spend the rest of his life with his boyfriend.

"Cabbage is good!" His mother instantly defended herself. "Made you tall and strong. Just look at yourself." She was at least one and a half heads smaller than her son and really proud of him. "So, from now on you have my word that I'll always knock before entering your room when Kaoru is here," she promised seriously.

"Thanks mom," Die smiled honestly, and even hugged her tightly. "I really appreciate that! Although I doubt you'd see anything too dirty even if you'd barge in..."

"Not?" She faked to be surprised. "So my son's a monk? Dear, judging by the kiss in the garden, I would be careful with statements like these if I were you," she advised.

"Mom..." The redhead sounded warning and tried to shrug it off without saying anything he'd regret. Finally he muttered a reply though, not sure if she heard it even. "I'm just not dumb enough to do anything at home when you could find out."

That earned him a not too gentle slap on his head while his mother already stood up from the couch. "I'm not that curious and you have my promise I won't barge in now, so no need to fear. And hey," she grinned at the redhead, "who do you think cleaned your room of all those tissues you started using when you turned thirteen, huh?"

"And of course you have to remind me of that now?" Die's cheeks were burning red again as he couldn't help but to be embarrassed about her bluntness.

"Of course I have to. You're almost a grown up now, but at least I didn't mention anything back then. So be a bit grateful for your mom, will you?" She bent down and gave him a kiss on the forehead. "And now go to bed. It's late already and although you might be ALMOST grown up, you still are MY baby and I know what's best for you."

"And going to bed right now is of course best for me, right?" Die stood up obediently though, even giving his mother a short hug. He didn't remember when he had last hugged his mother this much during one day, but he felt like expressing part of his gratefulness at least, and he felt considerably at ease after the talk. Even when he was lying in his bed, trying to sleep, he was smiling, thinking of how lucky he was.

When he told Kaoru that his mother knew, the older teen almost suffered a serious heart-attack, but when Die assured him that everything was alright, he dared to breathe again. Kaoru was sure that his own parents wouldn't take it this well, but also told his boyfriend that he would tell them once.

The longer they were together, the closer the end of the summer holidays came, the more serious their relationship became. Both of them were sure they would stay together even when Kaoru went to university. Sadly, the end of summer didn't give them more time to meet since the older teen had to focus on the entrance exams for university. He was still working hard, wanting to be accepted at Tokyo university; especially after his brother had visited them and had told about how good he was and that he went along so well with all his fellow students and professors.

Somewhere in between, Kaoru asked himself if working this hard still made sense, because he would never live up to the image his brother left behind. Besides, once he told his parents about his love to the redhead, he would never be able to make them value him as much as his brother anymore. Die didn't really think that it was vital for them to inform his boyfriend's parents about this, since he knew that, according to Kaoru's opinion at least, they wouldn't be that open minded with it.

Die had even told his father about his relationship one evening, and much to his surprise the older man had only nodded calmly, had asked some questions without being angry or starting to yell. That made things all the more relaxed at the redhead's home, and on occasions his mother invited Kaoru over for dinner, even teasing the teenagers slightly about their relationship in a loving way.

It was the longest dinner ever for Die and Kaoru, the older teen's face-colour constantly matching his boyfriend's hair. He had never thought that both of Die's parents would be this cool with the fact that they were a couple. Still, he was nervous around them and it only got better with passing time; the more often he stayed over at the Andous' residence.

At times, the two preferred to steal away and stay at their hideout though, because there they could live in their own private world, could get naked and sweaty, be as loud as they wanted without fearing to embarrass themselves before anybody. Sometimes they were even playing home there in a way, brought food and spent whole evenings there only to fall asleep entangled together under a thick blanket.

Not even the fact that it was getting colder again disturbed them as they just brought more warm clothes and blankets along with them. The only thing that cast a shadow on their happiness was the large amount of time spent separately, unable to use every single moment for being together. Both knew it was inevitable, but that didn't help them to see it brighter.

At least Die had Kyo to kill him some time, play Nintendo with him or just hang out together. The blonde really was a good friend and never complained about anything, not even that Die only asked him out whenever Kaoru was busy. Well, although there wasn't really anything to complain since the older teen was busy quite often. The exams came closer and with it a time where Die and he could only meet very rarely and that always for a few hours only.

Besides, after the finals, there would be Kaoru's prom and he really didn't feel like going; didn't want to be there alone and certainly wouldn't ask out a random girl to join him. Die on the other hand really thought that his boyfriend shouldn't skip it, even though he would have to go alone since neither of them was keen on the idea of asking some girl to be Kaoru's date. But Die thought that it was something the older teen really should experience, something that happened only once in his life and he should at least check it out not to regret anything later.

Still, whenever he mentioned something about it to his lover, the older teen just shrugged it off or plainly said he didn't want to go. Die remained persistent though and brought the topic up whenever the occasion was given. One evening where he hung out at Die's place, Kaoru finally nodded. "Okay, I will go if it means so much to you."

"You will?" Die looked more than surprised but it didn't last long and he was smiling again. "Cool!" Instantly he planted a kiss in the corner of the older boy's mouth. "You won't regret it, trust me."

"So, will you be my date then or did somebody else ask you already?" the older teen went on, grinning widely. He meant it, would put everything out in the open if his boyfriend was willing to do it as well.

That was something that the younger one hadn't expected and he clearly lost his composure, stuttering and trying to find out what he actually wanted to say. "But I - I mean we - we can't, because you - I -" A large part of him appreciated the offer and would've loved to just say 'YES!' and go for it, but there was still some rationality left and he wasn't sure if that'd be the most clever move.

"I knew you don't want to." Kaoru hung his head, sighing. "We can't hide forever, you know," he whispered. "And soon I'll be gone to study at some university. I thought if we shared this experience, it would be something for us to remember. Besides," he looked up, a small smirk spreading on his lips, "it would be cool to see how the others react."

Ooooh, Kaoru is one to talk leaving the place after coming out of the closet. But at least Die has some cool parents and the bestest best friend. :)

Now I really wonder how you're going to let this story end. Hmmm, you're gonna have to make them be forever in love, I hope you know!!

Nice chappie ^___^ more soon?

Kyo's cool ne? I dunno, I have a thing for him just being the strange but cool friend! Haha, and it's true, it's a bit selfish to first come out and then leave Die behind to deal with all the things that might be thrown at him eh?

Haha, one thing hun, we planned this to be some kind of prequel. So once we get around, we'll see these two again^^ So much for the forever in love thing. But you know us anyways, don't you? We can't hide that we're romantic saps.

More's to come soon of course. And then we should finish two of the fics we have started adn which are lying around almost finished for at least a year already...

And yay for your icon. Casual Kao and Die are love!
