fonulyn: Well, this could be kind of random and I know many of you don’t like to imagine them years from now, when they’re already a bit older and not necessarily as active rock-gods as we’ve gotten used to see them x) But when I was visiting my grandmother before Christmas, this somehow struck me and I just had to write it down as mushy and sugary as it might be. I do like it, and I hope that at least some of you would too^^
And yes I still suck with titles so just ignore the crappy-ness 8D

With You
Die taking care of children was something Kaoru hadn’t believed he’d ever get to see, much less enjoy this much. Still ten years ago, when the band had been more successful than ever before, if someone had described him this day he would’ve laughed straight at their faces. They, two world famous rockstars, playing family just like any couple? How ridiculous!
Kaoru had never thought he would get a family of his own. He wasn’t really a family person, never had been, his relationship with his parents and siblings more polite than heartfelt. So he had been firmly convinced that he would end up without a family just because of his own bad experiences. Or not bad, but not really very inspiring either.
When he had fallen in love with another man, one other than his friend, bandmate and fellow guitarist, he had been even more convinced of his child-less future. They were two rock-gods, passionate and restless, living the nights and using all their energy on playing, touring, partying and in general being all over each other. During the years things had calmed down, they didn’t party as hard and often as before, but still knew how to enjoy life to the fullest together. Kaoru could imagine them together forever, growing into an old couple of has-beens that had amazing times to look back at.
Then one normal Tuesday evening had changed everything. Kaoru was home alone, his slightly younger lover out with their bassist to see a movie he couldn’t have cared less of, so he had stayed behind. He had just closed his laptop, intending on making himself a cup of strong coffee to reward himself for the day’s hard work, when the doorbell rang.
It was a woman and a child. He distantly remembered the woman, and the fact that he had been screwing her years back, just before the time he had gotten together with the younger guitarist. But the child, a little girl who could barely walk on her own, he didn’t remember ever having seen before. Her visit wasn’t long, but left an even bigger impact. She had pushed the little girl towards him, told him it was his girl and his turn to take care of her. And then the woman disappeared, leaving the child behind.
At first Kaoru had thought he’d go after her and make her explain things more. But he didn’t even know the woman’s name, much less her phone number or where she came from or anything, so he didn’t have any chances to contact her. When he asked the little girl he only received a firm “She is mommy!” as an answer. Needless to say, that didn’t help him much in figuring out what the hell the woman’s name could’ve been.
Momentarily Kaoru had thought of calling the police, telling he can’t take care of the girl. But somehow he just couldn’t bring himself to do it. But who could even prove that he indeed was the girl’s father? That question got an answer as soon as Die got home though. “I was wondering when your bastards would start to pop up,” were his almost exact words. Kaoru pouted and protested, telling that he didn’t even have any proof the girl was his. And again Die surprised him by just grinning and shrugging. “Are you kidding? Just look at that adorable thing! The girl has about as much of you as possible; exactly your nose, the same determined jaw…”
The final proof Kaoru needed was given him soon though. From the first second when the girl set her eyes on Die, she was completely in love with him. How could she not be his girl then, thought Kaoru, since she had such a good taste in men too. The girl wasn’t only completely charmed by the younger guitarist though since Die was instantly pretty fond of her as well. Maybe he saw something of his lover in her, a part of his childhood. Or then he just couldn’t resist the adorable determination the little girl had, which was so obviously like Kaoru’s.
Somehow they ended up keeping the girl. Then one thing led to another, from bureaucracy to long, endless discussions, from difficulties to little victories. The girl was followed by another small one, their family growing. And now, this was something typical for them. Kaoru was sitting beside the kitchen table, sipping his black coffee while watching Die and the children.
The four-year-old was on Die’s arms, her legs around his waist and her arms on his shoulders, while he was explaining the six-year-old how to store away the remains of her breakfast. He still made the girls wash their hands before letting the younger one down to the floor. The girls instantly darted off, waving their little arms when disappearing from the room. That made Die chuckle and he took himself a cup of coffee – with sugar and a lot of cream, he had never really learned to like the strong taste much – before sitting down beside the table as well.
Kaoru loved these lazy Sunday mornings. He never got enough of just watching the people who were the most important to him in the world. Even now he didn’t say anything, just allowed his gaze rest upon his lover’s features. Die looked tired, had dark circles under his eyes, but there was this certain peaceful, relaxed aura surrounding him that showed he was happy. He was beautiful like this, Kaoru thought, just being himself and not self-conscious at all, the dark mahogany hair surrounding his pale face and making his dark eyes sparkle.
Wordlessly Kaoru leaned closer, initiating a deep, loving kiss. The way it was instantly responded to made his heart skip, showing him once again that despite the changes life had brought the fire hadn’t died and they were still as much devoted to each other as ever. If not even more.
Suddenly the peaceful moment was broken by a high-pitched shriek that cut through the air, Kaoru pulling off a grimace as they parted. “I’ll go.” He promised with a soft smile, earning a grateful glance from his lover.
“I swear,” Die begun with a theatrical sigh and a roll of his eyes. “This third one is the last kid we’ll have, I can’t deal with any more!” He was practically emitting happiness though, he same emotions mirrored in the older man’s eyes.
“That’s exactly what you said after the second one too.” Kaoru pointed out with a grin.
He only received a hasty wave and a chuckle. “Just go, go! Before the neighbours think that we’re torturing the baby.”
Kaoru headed into the living-room, almost tripping over the two girls in the doorway as they were running back to the kitchen, obviously enthusiastic about something. He went to the cradle, smiling as the crying ended instantly, like cut with a knife. And when he lifted up the smelly little brat, who had Die’s deep eyes and pouty lips, who had even inherited his father’s obvious happy and bouncy nature, he thought that life was good.
Yes, life definitely was good.

Obviously the first was Kao's bastard. Die made that quite clear [best line of the fic btw]
Second was an adoption and third was surrogate via Die and some chick. XD
That's how I've decided the last two came about.

Loved the feeling and warmness to this. I myself wanted to write something concerning kids and one of the boys and this actually made me really considering it :).
It's always lovely when one of you write a K/D. You can always see how much you guys care for them and that's why the pairing seems more lovable. All these images in your fic were really domestic and I loved that.

Thank you so much :) Your comment really made me smile, and I'm glad to hear that you liked it! And wow, it's a real compliment what you said, that a part of the love that's poured into the fic actually transfers to the reader as well!

haha... so many unwanted kids...
maybe one day when both of them retire,
they can open a childcare centre!
