Attention everyone!
Christmas is nearing, so fast, that we noticed we won't ever have the time to do the same request-post as we did last year. But we wanted to do something for Christmas anyways, so we had to come up with something else! THIS is that something.
As said, this year we won't be writing requested fics for Christmas. This is where YOU step in, dear friends. We want YOU to do something for us. But of course we have something for you in return! Amazing prizes you can win by participating to the Rabenhorst Christmas Challenge! :D
First the most important, what you need to do. You will have to do a fanwork which has something to do with one of the fics we have written and posted here in Rabenhorst. It can be a piece of fanart, graphics, a sequel or a prequel to one of the fics, a drabble that has something to do with one of the fics, a sountrack for one of the fics, or just about anything you come up with. If you are unsure if your idea is fitting for the competition, you can always ask us in a comment or send one of us an email.
We would want to stress that the work you participate with doesn't have any quality limits. Meaning that it doesn't need to be the greatest artwork in history so you can participate. As long as you put your mind to it and do it with care, it's automatically good enough to submit! So don't doubt your skills, don't be afraid to show your talent!
After you’re done with your fanwork you can post it to your own personal journal or to the communities, wherever you want to post it. But you will need to leave us a link to the fanwork in question in this entry, so we can keep track on the works. The works will also be archived in this journal, meaning that when the time is up, I will collect all the links and make one post with them to get all the works neatly in one place, easy to access :)
So these are the steps for you to follow:
1. Fill the sign up form (located to the bottom of the post) and post it as a comment in this entry. ALL COMMENTS ARE SCREENED so don’t be afraid to leave your address. It’s just needed for the prizes to be sent out. And if you don’t want to leave your address here in a comment, leave the part blank and email your address to one of us (fonulyn@gmail.com or floragunn@gmx.de). Remember to mention your lj username in the email too then! The sign up process will end on 26th of December 2008.
2. Pick a fic you want to use. You can always browse through the archive to find the fic you want!
3. Finish your fanwork of choice before the year ends. The last day to submit your works is the 31st of December 2008. Remember that it’s Christmas people, if you decide to write a sequel to one of the fics we beg you not to write a sad ending to it! Christmas is for happy things!
4. Post a link to your work here in this entry as well. Again, the links need to be posted latest at 31st December 2008.
5. Wait for the results and if you won a magnificent present :D
Speaking of magnificent presents, I’m sure that you all are already curious about what you can win :3 So here is a short list of what we will be sending out to the lucky winners:
- Dir en grey commercial poster (picture)
- A fic written on request, bound and printed (can be a printed copy of one of our old fics too if preferred. the request has to face same restrictions as the requests last Christmas, considering pairings)
- Rockoon July/August 2008 (pictures: #1, #2) – Attention! If you have this one, tell us! (to ensure you get something else in case you win it)
- Photostickers
- A couple of big photos (Mera Luna photos, examples)
- Possibly something more…
One prize per person, we will perform a lottery and once you win something you won't be in line to win another one too. We will post the results of the lottery once it’s all done, but we will inform the winners personally as well.
Plus everybody who participated will get a nice card :D

I will answer to the questions via comments, and on top of that edit a FAQ section to the bottom of this post so that you can see if the question was already answered. Can I submit more than one fanwork?
- Yes you can. Submit as many as you wish, we would be just glad to receive more stuff from you 8D But note that even if you submit two works, you will only be given one lottery ticket! So doubling your input won’t double your chances to win. It will double our happiness though XD
If I say my ‘possible type of submission’ is a fanart, but then decide to write a prequel instead, do I need to comment again?
- No. You can do whatever you wish, and you can change your mind as many times as you want. The reason we’re asking for that is simply because we’re curious and want to know what we might possibly receive in the end of the year x) But feel free to change your mind and you don’t need to inform us about it again!
Can I write a sad sequel to one of your fics?
- *sigh* Yes. But it means we will be very sad about it! And you don’t want to make us sad, do you? 8D *puppy dog eyes*
Can I use someone else’s fic?
- No. The whole idea is that you give us a present and in return we will give you something nice. So we will demand that you use specifically our fics as the basis of your works.

Excuse moi.Man, I'd love to participate but I'm afraid with the things I have going on at the moment, I'm pretty busy already. :/ I shouldn't make promises I won't be able to keep then. Maybe I'll have a quick idea but until then, not participating. T__TGreat idea nonetheless!

haha, you're so right, and it's not a stupid thing to say at all! Christmas is so amazing and I love how it gets people going!
hm, personally I'm not a member in that community so I don't really know what's going on there. But you're right in a way, since those discussions used to happen more and now people have been more silent. It could be really interesting to hear what other fans have to say, and share views on some things though.
