Comments:
[livejournal.com profile] seinen_no: You know, it's been some time since we wrote this and only now I had the time to re-read at least a part of the story. Totally forgot which one it was. And I have to say that I like the thought of a bouncy, overextended Die being with a mean and yet loving Kyo. I know that I enjoyed writing it. So yeah, we can do other pairings too, although I can't help to think that the OTP is DiexKaoru and the others are just a nice way to spend extra-time^^ Anyways, this was a request, but it doesn't mean that we won't ever write anything else freewillingly. Actually, there's a ToshxDie somewhere ready, waiting to be edited XD
Whoa, I should stop the babbling. Have fun reading!

[livejournal.com profile] fonulyn: First of all I apologize for any mistakes there still might be in the story. I was extremely tired when going through the chapter for the second time and things might’ve very well slipped me. Let me know if there’s something major x) Personally I still like this story a lot though, and I can’t help but to be happy for Kyo and Die here XD I hope you like it too! Let us know what you think ;)

And feel free to add our journal if you like the stories!
Plus, the archive.

Part 1

Chapter 2

The next two days were pretty exhausting for everybody in the band. First of all, there were the necessary practices as a new tour was coming ahead of them and second, everybody was assigned by Kyo to help them pack their things. So after spending a long day at the studio, they drove to the redhead's apartment and kept on working there. Shinya was complaining that hands were becoming rough and his back was aching from carrying dirty boxes upstairs from the basement to see if the things inside could be thrown away or if Die wanted to keep them. Yet, Kyo managed to keep all of them working as long and as much as possible; doing a better job as a slave-driver than Kaoru ever could.

It helped in increasing Die's mood, and he managed to stay surprisingly calm throughout the whole process. At times the stress was getting too much to him, as he tended to make everything even bigger deal inside his head than they truly even were, and he threw a few total fits because of it. Every single time Kyo managed to somehow calm him down, dragging him to the next room and working his magic. The other three of their bandmembers didn't know how exactly only a moment later Die was all smiling again, but they didn't care as long as it was working. They were even ahead of schedule, and had managed to convince the redhead to throw away more stuff than they would've ever thought possible.

Kaoru had organized a huge truck for the moving day itself as nobody else seemed to think about that. He, Toshiya and Shinya had agreed upon helping them move on the upcoming Friday. It was set that they wouldn't go to the studio that day, because emptying two apartments at once would eat up all their energy anyways and everybody was glad that the band-leader had managed to get them this free day.

"Say," Toshiya remarked casually while throwing a heap of old schoolbooks into a carton carelessly, "what about Kyo's apartment?" He looked up, searching for Die with his gaze. "Did he pack already?"

It took a short moment for Die to land back to reality as he startled a bit. He had been going through his list of things to check through next. "Sure he did," Die shrugged, flashing a grin. "He can't be that dumb and unpractical to leave the packing to be done the last day, can he?" He hadn't even given a thought for that, and assumed that since Kyo hadn't said anything about it everything was in order.

The bassist nodded, but the frown on his forehead showed that he didn't fully believe Die's words. At that moment, Kyo entered the room, wearing a sleeveless shirt and old torn jeans which was full of dust. He carried a huge box in his arms and set it down with a deep sigh. "That's the last box from the basement," he announced, brushed some dust off his arms and smiled at the two men in the living-room.

"The last?" Die smiled brightly instantly. "Awesome. What's in it?" He stalked closer, curious to see what hidden treasures might appear from the long forgotten box this time.

"Er..." The vocalist shrugged and opened it. "Some kinda clothes," he mumbled and dug out a very colourful and very large button up shirt. "When the fuck did you wear that?" he asked laughing.

Toshiya chuckled too, snatched the garment from Kyo's hands and instantly put it on. "I get eye-cancer just from looking at it," he remarked. Drawn from the loud laughter, Kaoru and Shinya appeared from the kitchen where they had packed the unneeded stuff into boxes, seeing that they seemed to be the only ones who knew how to safely wrap the things so that they wouldn't be broken during the move.

When they spotted Toshiya, both burst out laughing. "What is THAT?" Shinya asked chuckling.

"I think that's Die's famous Halloween outfit. He went as some 70ies pornstar," Kaoru informed. Of course, Die had gone as a Disco-dancer at that time, but he simply bent the truth a bit, because the tall guitarist had been looking like a pornstar indeed in that colourful shirt and the fitting tight white jeans with the boot-cut legs.

"Hey!" Instantly Die protested, frowning and throwing an accusing glance at his best friend who was again trying to - and succeeding in - making fun of him. "It was a dancer and not a pornstar. And wait until I find the pictures of YOU in that skirt you wore." He winked with a grin. "Then you won't say a single word about that to me anymore." Hopeful, he turned towards the box to see if he'd have some of the said photographs there.

"At least my pants weren't so tight that I was speaking an octave higher," the older guitarist retorted snickering. "Besides, I think I destroyed all the pictures there were of me..." The other bandmembers had grown curious and were sneaking closer to Die to see if he found something in that box which would be usable against their bandleader if needed.

"You couldn't have done that, Kao, I never let you too close to my versions of the pictures." Die informed with a wink. Apparently he had stored the photographs into some other box or somewhere else, since there weren’t any albums inside there. With a victorious sound the redhead managed to dig out one slightly crumpled paper though, a small picture of both of them in their costumes. "Here!"

Before Kaoru could get to the picture, Toshiya snatched it from the redhead's hand and instantly burst out laughing, handing the piece of evidence to the two other bandmembers next to him. "When was that? I mean, why we weren’t there too?" he asked, wiping some tears of laughter from his cheeks.

"Because you were invited somewhere else, Shin wasn't in town and Kyo didn't feel like partying at all," Kaoru informed casually. "And Die and I agreed that we never talk about this." The bandleader glared at the redhead.

"Hey, YOU were the one to spill the beans first." Die chuckled, winking at his friend and not minding the glare. "I think we can agree that both our costumes are pretty much equally embarrassing, right?"

"Yeah, I think so." The older guitarist grinned again. "Besides, we had a blast there, right?"

"Hell yes!" The answer came instantly with a nod. "Was one of the best parties ever."

"Okay," Kyo drawled, peeling the bassist out of the ugly shirt. "But that doesn't mean we can't get rid of these ugly clothes, right?"

"But it's a nice memory..." Instantly Die's smile turned into a small frown and he tilted his head. "I can't just throw it away or anything."

The vocalist looked at him for a long moment and then shrugged. "Okay, then put it into the bedroom so that we store it with the other clothes." He didn't feel like discussing this for hours with his lover and thought he could secretly get rid of some more stuff whenever Die wouldn't notice it.

"Cool!" The redhead flung his arms around the small man to give him a short hug as thanks. He had never assumed Kyo would actually let him keep this much stuff, and he could barely hide his bounciness. The blonde man on the other hand, thought that if he could make his lover happy this easily, it was worth a bit more struggle with the move. Besides, the house would have a huge basement and they would have lots of space to store their unneeded belongings.

That night, they kept on working till the early morning hours and were almost completely done. The only thing that was left was to paint the walls white for the new occupants. Due to the incident with the shirt, Toshiya had totally forgotten to ask Kyo if he was finished with packing his own stuff already, but when he remembered it, was too tired to bring it up again. They were all totally exhausted when they finally were able to just rest finally. They even all stayed overnight at Die's place, sleeping on the mattresses that they spread between the boxes.

To thank their friends of the hard work Die and Kyo even got up early, or Kyo did as Die simply turned around and went on sleeping, to get them all decent breakfast. The small vocalist could have killed his lover for that, but then he knew how grumpy and bitchy Die was when he hadn't gotten enough sleep. Besides, he still thought this all was kinda his fault, so he didn't complain and just got them some breakfast. He was practically sleep-walking and once everybody was sitting on their huge bed in the bedroom, eating and chatting, he curled up on the couch and got back to sleep a bit.

Die appreciated that he had been allowed to sleep more in the morning and so he kept on chatting with the others and made it a long breakfast, giving his lover a moment to rest before they would have to finish packing. It wasn't much to be done anymore, and they were allowed to take it slow still. Eventually they all got back to work though, thinking it'd be best to get it done soon.

The next day was the day of the move already. Kaoru had promised to pick them up with the truck in the early morning hours while Toshiya and Shinya would come with their own cars to have some more room for boxes and be independent. They ended practice early that day so that all of them could get some rest. Kyo on his side wasn't tired at all anymore, but was excited and psyched. "So," he drawled, wrapping his arms around Die's waist while the others around them got ready to go home, "this is our last night as singles."

"Does that mean that you want to spend the night alone? To enjoy being single?" Die inquired instantly, chuckling and leaning a bit more into the embrace as he was enjoying it to no end right now. Everything was done and packed in his apartment and he was considerably calmer than in a long time.

The vocalist pursed his lips as if he needed to ponder about that matter. "Maybe," he gave away grinning. "Wouldn't that be enticing? To spend the last night alone before moving in together for good? Like before a marriage." Toshiya, who walked passed them, slapped his shoulder in a friendly manner. "Kyo, sometimes you have weird ideas. See ya tomorrow!" With having said that, the bassist left the studio and was gone.

"Maybe," The redhead pursed his lips, rolling his eyes and trying to hold back his smile for the time being; totally failing in it though. "When did we last even spend a night completely apart?"

"In February," came the instant answer. "When you were visiting your parents and I didn't feel like coming along."

"Oh. You keep notes of them?" Die arched an eyebrow as he hadn't thought the other man would even remember it.

"No, I just happen to remember it, because I thought I could use another day all for myself again," Kyo retorted with a smug smile.

"Ah, I see. So that means 'Die go visit your parents now'?" The guitarist tried to ignore the other's grin as best as he could.

"Not necessarily your parents." The vocalist shrugged casually. "What do you think then? Should we spend the last night in my apartment for a change?"

"That sounds fine. To say goodbye to the ugly bedroom ceiling too." The redhead chuckled, this time not able to hold back his bright grin either.

"It still ain't ugly!" the smaller man argued but then, his eyes began to sparkle. "Now that you say it, I will give you a loooooong moment to say goodbye to the ceiling."

"A loooong moment?" Die imitated, and the sparkle in his eyes showed that he definitely appreciated the idea, loving it already.

"Very long," Kyo promised and let go off the other man to fetch his jacket. "So better get going now and not waste any time, right?"

"Exactly. We need the whole night to say goodbye to the place properly." The redhead snickered, quickly getting his own jacket on before they both headed out of the building and towards the vocalist's apartment.

When they arrived and Kyo switched on the light after kicking the door open, Die saw that nothing had changed since the last time, really nothing. There were no boxes, the shelves still full with his stuff, the table littered and everything. He stopped on his tracks, his eyes widening and mouth dropping open. It took a long moment for him to get a single word out, and only when Kyo turned to look at him questioningly he snapped back to reality. "Kyo! You haven't even STARTED!?"

The vocalist tilted his head to the side, looking pondering for a moment. "Oh, you mean the packing?" he asked and nodded finally. "Yeah, I thought I could do it tomorrow morning while the others get your stuff to the house."

"KYO!" Die sounded like he was going to have some sort of panic attack any moment now. "You have to be kidding me! You can't think you can pack everything in a couple of hours?"

"Sure." The small blonde remained totally calm but when he saw his lover's flushed cheeks, he slowly began to understand that this probably hadn't been the brightest idea. "Don't worry. It's done in two hours max. I promise."

"Promise!?" The redhead didn't seem to be even close to calming down still, frantically looking around in the room that was filled with stuff all over. "You can't manage that, it's not humanly possible. Just think about all the hours we packed in my apartment and we don't have time to go for the same here now and..."

"Calm down, Die." Kyo's voice was low as he tried to sound as soothing as possible, but then he rolled his eyes. "Don't worry. Most of this stuff is going to the dumpster anyways and the things I want to keep are packed within no time. Besides, I don't have a basement nor an attic, so don't throw a fit, okay?"

"But there's stuff EVERYWHERE!" The guitarist still didn't seem to be willing to let the topic drop, taking a few steps into the room and gesturing around. "LOOK at all of this!"

Disinterested, the vocalist followed his lover's handgesture with his eyes. "I see it," he answered, still totally calm. Then, he took a firm hold of the taller one's hips, pressing him against the wall behind him.

"Let that be my problem and relax," he whispered, his voice suddenly only a seductive purr. He knew that, once Die was this agitated, it would take some time for him to calm down by himself or then he would have to take his mind off the things that had to be packed. Slowly, he opened Die's fly and the button of his jeans before going down on his knees before him. "C'mon, lemme help you relax."

The agitation was still there, and Die almost protested already before he realized fully where the situation was truly heading. Being as skilled as he was, it didn't take long until the small vocalist had his lover completely on his mercy, writhing and squirming underneath the treatment. And there was no room for any other thoughts in Die's head than the deliciously rising pressure, his whole world consisting of the feelings that were coursing through him.

Afterwards he was sitting on the couch, almost completely calm and relaxed and hardly even noticing the mess around him anymore. Kyo was smiling contently and leaned against the taller man. Only a small light lit the room dimly, made it look almost cosy. "I am really looking forward to live together with you, you know," the small man admitted smiling. "I would've never thought this possible, but it's true."

"Hey, I could take that as an insult too, you do know that?" Die chuckled, sneaking one arm around the other man to pull him a bit closer. "I'm not that impossible to deal with, am I?"

"No, of all people in the world, you're probably the only one I can deal with," the small man gave away chuckling. It was his ways to tell the redhead how much he loved him and he knew that Die would understand it.

The words made the guitarist practically beam, his expression genuinely happy. "You know," He chuckled though, poking the other man's nose with his index finger. "We still have one problem. Your stuff isn't packed and we certainly can't go for saying goodbyes to the place before everything's set."

"But we can say goodbye to the bedroom-ceiling!" The other man insisted firmly. "I swear, this all is done in two hours, not much more." He pouted, since he had thought his little distraction had worked enough to make Die forget about the packing.

"Two hours? It sounds good, but I'm afraid you're being too optimistic about it..." Die shrugged a bit. He knew that it would give the other man more inspiration to pack if there would be a sort of reward waiting for him afterwards. "Maybe we should start working..."

"What now?" Kyo shook his head. "You can't be serious. I was more thinking about saying goodbye now... Really, I'm in the mood to say goodbye." He nodded to emphasize his words and took on the most pleading expression he could manage.

"Work first, fun then!" The redhead stated firmly, although he couldn't help but to already feel like giving in to the other man. He simply couldn't resist a look like that.

"You already had your fun," the vocalist pointed out, showing an adorable pout. Finally, he released a deep sigh and stood up from the couch. "Okay, you won. But don't think I become all soft from now on. You'll see what's coming of this."

"I know, don't worry." Die chuckled, straightening a bit, ready to get up. "I'll help you, just tell me where to start."

"Just pack all the clothes in my wardrobe into one of the boxes I put under the bed, okay." Kyo's mood didn't seem to be the best, but if one knew him, one could see that he wasn't really angry. Obediently, he got up and vanished in the bathroom first. He hadn't lied, the plan in his head working perfectly, and after half an hour, the bathroom was empty and he appeared with a huge garbage bag.

Die had vanished into the bedroom and was packing the clothes into the huge box, practically humming as he worked since he simply couldn't stop thinking that they were about to move in together. That was something he still didn't fully believe, and the whole imagination of it made him totally happy.

He heard some glass shattering from the living-room, followed by some curses, but didn't bother to look after his lover since he was a bit afraid of what kind of view awaited him. He only asked Kyo if everything was alright, yelling his question through the closed door. After hearing an agreeing grunt, he turned back to packing the clothes.

When he was done, he finally dared to peek into the other room, surprised how empty it was already. Kyo stood amongst a bunch of big blue garbage-bags, smiling at his lover. "See, Almost ready here."

"You're... serious?" Die's eyes widened, as he noticed that there was only one medium sized box packed and everything else was in garbage bags. One look at the smaller man confirmed it though that he indeed was serious. Die couldn't help but to chuckle, shaking his head. "You're impossible."

"Am not. Look. It's much easier to carry the bags. The one with an 'X' on them can be thrown away, the others will move with us." He smiled widely, showing his crooked teeth.

"And how do you figure that things won't be totally broken inside the bags when we get there?" The redhead laughed softly, stepping further into the living-room.

"We have to be careful with the bags from the bathroom and the kitchen," the vocalist presented his perfect solution, chuckling a bit. "And I'm not impossible. Only the cupboards have to be disassembled still. Although," he hesitated for a moment. "Although most of them can be just destroyed."

Smiling Die came closer to the other man, leaning down to plant a small kiss on his lips. "And you are impossible. But I love you nevertheless."

"And that's supposed to lighten me up?" The smaller man asked mock-grumbling.

"YES!" The guitarist chuckled. "It's supposed to make you the happiest man on earth!"

The answer was a wide smile, followed by a gentle kiss. "If I'm impossible, you're crazy to even try to live with me," the vocalist remarked when they had parted again.

"Well, but it makes life more interesting," Die winked with a bright grin, sneaking his arms around the other man's neck.

After that, the rest of the stuff that still had to be packed was forgotten and Kyo rather gave Die the possibility to say goodbye to the ceiling in his bedroom properly. After all, it was the last night in his old apartment where he had been living for so long and although it had been his idea to move in together with the redhead, he couldn't help but to be a bit melancholy. Die did his best to distract the other man from the feeling though, trying to keep his attention directed completely on him all along. To his own contentment he noticed that he managed fairly well, both of them totally occupied with each other.

They knew it wasn't clever to spend the whole night awake and get all exhausted, but neither of them cared. Only in the early morning hours, they were finally asleep, entangled, sweaty and stained. That resulted in both of them sleeping until the alarm and through it, and they woke up only when Die's mobile started beeping persistently. Half asleep the redhead picked it up only to get yelled at by their bandleader who informed them that they were in a hurry.

Skipping the necessary shower, the two got dressed in some old clothes and rushed out to get to Die's apartment where the others were waiting already. They had decided to move the redhead's stuff first, partly because there still were some things to do in Kyo's apartment.

Quickly they all got to it, carrying the boxes and making sure everything was taken with them or thrown away and nothing was left into the old apartment. Afterwards Die went to give away his key, a slight melancholy seeping into him as he realized he wouldn't go into his apartment anymore after that. But it was drowned out by bounciness the next second as he thought about the new home, which he hadn't even seen yet to be exact.

Toshiya, Shinya and Kaoru were carrying the bed, the last thing that needed to fit the truck. When he stepped onto the cargo lift, the bassist stumbled though and dropped his load. Unable to hold it, Shinya and Kaoru had to let go off it as well and it dropped down on the street, breaking in three pieces. "Fuck!" The lead guitarist griped, shaking his hand which had been hurt badly.

"The bed!" Die instantly stepped forward, sounding terrified as he looked at the remains of the piece of furniture. His attention was quickly directed towards his friend though, as Kaoru was holding his hand and looking more than unhappy. "Did it hurt how bad? You're not gonna carry anything anymore."

"I'm not a baby!" The older guitarist tucked his hand away which Die had grabbed to examine it. "I can carry some boxes still."

Kyo, who had seen the happenings from afar only, was rushing towards them. "Fuck! The bed!" The piece of furniture had been the only thing of Die he had honestly liked. "Well," he tried to get a hold of himself and smiled, "we can sleep on the futon. As long as nobody's harmed, it's okay."

"But Kao IS harmed. Tell him he won't be carrying anything." Die insisted, turning to look at his lover and waiting for him to back him up on this. He eyed the bed for a moment, and then looked hopefully at the small vocalist again. "We could buy a new one when we buy a couch too..?"

Kyo's first reaction was a deep sigh. "Yeah, I think we have to. Well, let's just gather the pieces and get 'em to the dumpster." Then, he turned his attention towards the older guitarist, furrowing his brows. "Did you hurt yourself much?" Kaoru shook his head. "It's noghing." "Well then," Kyo shrugged, "let's just get the rest into the truck and get going."

Die frowned as no one seemed to agree with him on this, but he didn't have much time to keep on dwelling into it as soon they were all busy carrying the rest of the boxes and getting everything ready to be moved. After that everything went on smoothly, nothing else breaking if one didn't count in some minor stuff that wasn't important anyways. And if one didn't count all of Kyo's plates, bowls and whatelse he had stored in the garbage bags which he had filled with the stuff from his kitchen. It had been Toshiya, but one couldn't blame the bassist since nobody would have assumed fragile porcelain in a bag like that. As Kyo had predicted, he was willing to throw away most of the stuff, everything despite his collectables, his games and DVDs.

In the end there was around one box of Kyo's stuff to half a dozen boxes of Die's stuff, since the redhead stubbornly refused to let go of most of his belongings. As they arrived to the new house, Die totally forgot that they were supposed to do the unpacking too, as he instantly practically sprinted inside, wanting to look through every single room of the house.

"It still needs some.... restorations," Kyo informed, scratching his head. He didn't go into detail though and instead went to the truck, aiding his friends with unpacking their stuff. They all were exhausted already, but still didn't grant themselves some rest. Only after another two hours, the vocalist decided to order food for all of them as they hadn't eaten anything in hours.

At that point the redhead had already managed to actually help the others with the unpacking, as he had gone through the rooms in the house already. He had decided they needed to paint at least the kitchen and the bedroom, but he hadn't informed his lover about it yet, trying to figure out a good way to tell him they wouldn't be unpacking the boxes before they would finish the painting-part. He was still thinking of it when they were all sitting on the living room floor, eating eagerly.

"And baby? Do you like our house?" Kyo asked as he bent over his lover, who was sitting on the floor, from behind with a beer in his hand. Kyo had feared Die could hate the house, hate the whole neighborhood, but so far it didn't seem like it. Still, Die had been unusually silent and thus he simply had to ask.

"Yeah," Die smiled brightly, as much at the petname and at the other man in general. "I love it. It's got so much room and nice big windows too! But Kyo..." He pursed his lips a bit, measuring the other with his gaze as if trying to decide if he was in good enough mood to take the news about the painting.

"But what?" the smaller man asked, hitching one of his delicate eyebrows. "What's wrong with it, huh?"

"I want to paint the bedroom. And the kitchen! And maybe the hall too..." The redhead created his best irresistible smile, blinking innocently at his lover.

"Before we move all our stuff inside?" Kyo shook his head, taking on a pained expression. "What colours?" He knew his lover too well and was sure he had already figured out everything.

"Natural white into the kitchen," Die explained willingly, knowing the other would be able to get it out of him one way or another. "And light blue into the bedroom. I didn't figure out the hall yet."

"Light blue in the bedroom?" The vocalist pulled a disgusted face. "You can't be serious. The bedroom is for sleeping and for mellow moments, can't we choose a calmer colour; something darker?"

"Baby blue is calm!" The redhead protested instantly. "Or then I want dark red. That could be too."

"Dark red? Makes it look like a whore-house." Kyo sighed and then nodded. "Okay, dark red it is. But don't you dare and use golden accessories!" He knew his lover's eagerness for dark red mixed with gold, but he himself was always reminded of Christmas then.

"But..." Die frowned, but then again he could work on the accessories-part later on and now only settle for the painting. So he was smiling brightly again. "And babe, would a whore-house be such a far fetched idea?" He winked. "I know we won't be only sleeping in there."

"And you call ME impossible?" The vocalist laughed and shook his head. He looked at their friends, arching an eyebrow. "You are allowed to take my side here. C'mon, dark red and gold or bright blue..." The others only kept on eating, but all of them wore a grin on their faces. They rather didn't interfere with the business of their two bandmates.

"I didn't say bright blue." Die pointed out calmly. "I said LIGHT blue. Totally calming enough."

"Totally looking like a baby's room," his lover retorted, even poked out his tongue. "I like dark red, so it's okay. And I thought LIGHT," he stressed the word in a mocking way, "green for the hall."

"Green?" The redhead pursed his lips. "It might make the space feel more wide... I suppose that IS an okay idea."

Kyo's eyes went wide. "Did you just agree upon the colour with me? On something I suggested?" He couldn't believe it, but made a huge act of this to mock his lover even more.

"Come on, Kyo. One more word and I'll take it back." Die rolled his eyes, trying to hold back his grin.

"Nope, you can't." The vocalist nodded smirking. "Everybody heard you and light green it is. You can have your dark red. Although I think white is to friggin' boring and old fashioned for the kitchen. But since it's your place anyways," he winked meaningfully, "you can decide."

"Hey!" This time the redhead aimed a punch on his lover's side. "That was way below the belt. As if I'd spend much time in the kitchen anyways. We could paint it the same light green too..."

"Nah," Kyo shook his head, "that's boring too." Chuckling a bit, he leaned over to his lover as he had sat down beside him, whispering into his ear. "You do spend more time there. Only that you're bending over the counter and not cooking."

The words made Die shudder, and his eyes fell shut halfway. He was grinning though, casting a glance at the other man. "But you're there too then, in case you didn't notice..."

"Not always." The vocalist was referring to an incident some time ago and just seeing that the mentioning managed to make his lover blush still, caused him to chuckle. "See, I win," he whispered loving and gave the taller man a short peck on the lips.

Die was still doing his best to pout though, glaring at the other man. "Thank you so much for embarrassing me again in front of our friends." He wasn't really angry though, and one could see it in the sparkle in his eyes.

"Our friends didn't hear a word I was saying," the small man pointed out.

Toshiya agreed nodding. "Yeah, and that's not nice. I, for my part, am curious why Die's face has the colour of a ripe tomato."

"You can just try to imagine it." The redhead blushed a bit more, although he tried hard not to.

It made Shinya laugh softly though, and he tilted his head. "By the reaction I could imagine that Die at least likes the memory on some level." That comment earned general laughter and Die still had to endure the mocking of his friends for some time until they had found a better topic to discuss.

Everybody was grateful to be allowed to sit and rest a bit finally, making the most of the moment. Shinya and Toshiya, who hadn't seen the house before, were congratulating the two newlyweds to their purchase; both complimenting it. That made the smile return to Die's lips once again, as he truly liked the house a lot himself too. He had been a bit sceptic at first, thinking that what kind of place the small vocalist had gotten for them, but his fears had seemed to be in vain though as the house looked nice.

There were still a few boxes left in the car and Toshiya and Kyo got up to get them, telling the others they should just remain sitting or then get the boxes into the rooms where they would be needed later. Everything went smooth and nice and the vocalist and bassist took a short moment outside to smoke a cigarette, leaning against the truck. Toshiya wanted to know how Kyo felt about the whole move; about living together with the redhead for real now and they talked about that matter for a few minutes.

The bassist hadn't thought that the two would be moving in this soon together, and he definitely wouldn't have thought that it would be Kyo to initiate the whole matter. So within the first possible silent moment he couldn't hold back, just bursting out with his questions. "What made you decide you'd wanna move in together right now?"

"Die would've lost his apartment anyways," Kyo answered with a shrug and then added with a meaningful grin. "We were too loud..." He hushed for a moment though, thinking and then his expression grew considerably more serious. "I think it's about time that we take that step. After all this time, I should trust this, don't you think?"

The bassist was silent for a moment, like thinking about it but then turned to smile honestly at his friend. "Yeah. If you've coped with Die thus far, I suppose you know what's waiting for you." He winked, but the words were meant honestly as he really thought that the two had what it would take to make it in the end. "I just somehow didn't see that it'd be you to initiate it, you know."

"Well, it's kinda my fault too that he loses his apartment," the small blonde pointed out. "And if I'm honest with myself, I've been living at his place anyways. I mean, I only kept my apartment as some kind of backup in case 'we' wouldn't work out. But we work surprisingly well and now I think it's time to get rid of the back-door and face reality."

"I know for sure that Die appreciates it." Toshiya pointed out, a small grin dancing on his lips as he took a drag of his cigarette. "I mean, when have you last seen him smile this much? The man's practically beaming."

"I still can't believe it, you know." Kyo was smiling widely himself. "He just took everything I threw at him, that he'll lose his apartment, that I bought a home for us without asking, that we only had a week for the moving; simply everything. In the beginning, I didn't give it much thought, but only did what had to be done. He would've probably been throwing a fit if he had read those letters of complaint. But now, as everything is over, I am just relieved that he took it so calm."

"That just shows that he's happy to be living with you for real." Toshiya spoke the obvious. "And besides, you did all the work now after all, getting the new place and all, so that makes a lazy bum like him appreciate it even more." He chuckled.

"Yeah, but I should've painted the walls before moving our stuff here," Kyo remarked snickering. "But you know what." His eyes were sparkling when he went on. "It'll be a real home for us both and so it's okay, even if he wants a red and gold bedroom."

"Maybe he'll agree on re-painting it once. When he's older and calmer." The bassist snickered. He put out his cig, turning to his friend and giving him a hug on an impulse. "Congratulations. Really. I'm happy for you both."

Startled, Kyo answered the embrace. It was good to hear that their friends approved of them. It hadn't always been like that, because in the beginning, at least Kaoru had been insanely afraid that the relationship between him and the guitarist could have a bad effect on the band. Time proved that he had been mistaken though and now everybody was fine with the thought that those two were a couple and, moreover, taking things between them serious. "Thanks Tosh." He smiled at the tall man and then winked. "C'mon, let's go back or they'll think we try to ditch the rest of the work."

"I bet Kao's got it all organized though, so no worries." Toshiya chuckled, but nodded and they both headed inside again. The bassist had been right, since inside the boxes were almost all moved to the right rooms, the bandleader organizing everything so that it was as easy as possible. Some of the boxes were already stored into the basement, and they all knew - although Die would never admit it - that those boxes would probably never be touched again.

It was something Kyo could deal with though and maybe he would have the needed energy once to convince his lover of getting rid of some stuff. Those things were unimportant at that moment though as all they needed for the first days was the bedroom to be ready. Everybody aided them and not a complete hour later, the futon was spread on the floor, curtains hanging in front of the window and the closet was standing. "Perfect." Kyo looked at their achievement with a certain pride in his voice. It was a good feeling to have friends who were willing to help them always.

"This is just awesome." Die agreed with a nod, letting his eyes roam over the room. He still wanted it painted, as he didn't like the dirty looking old white walls, but that was something that could wait until a bit later. Everyone was tired already, and the other three were all more than ready to retreat home to get some rest.

Die had decided that the promised house-warming party would take part after everything was set and so they agreed that the two could tell the time once they decided it. It would be a wild party anyways with a lot of people because both men had a lot of friends despite the band.

Kyo wrapped one arm around Die's waist casually while waving goodbye to the others who were just leaving through the door. "Thanks again guys. Really, we owe you," he said, the smile on his face a bit tired.

"You bet you do," Toshiya retorted, winked and then rushed to his car as it had begun to rain a bit.

It didn't take more than fifteen minutes and it was pouring, the storm breaking loose outside completely. Die was tired, and just wanted to get to bed but as he stepped into the bedroom the next time he had to notice that their perfect new home wasn't that perfect in every aspect... the ceiling was leaking, and a puddle of water was already forming on the floor. They fixed it for now simply by bringing a bucket underneath to collect the water.

When they were finally lying next to each other on the futon, Kyo could practically hear the other man's thoughts in the leaden darkness. He knew that Die was slightly pissed at him for not mentioning that there were some things to do on the house itself. "The roofer will come on Thursday," he remarked after a while, feeling the need to show that he had indeed been taking care of that too.

"Hm." Die answered shortly, not even sparing a glance at the other. He listened for the falling waterdrops hitting the water that was already in the bucket for a while, before speaking up again. "Let's hope we won't drown before that." He still liked the house, truly did, but something as essential as fixing a roof should've been done BEFORE the moving in if one asked him. Being tired made it easy to become cranky about it too.

Another long moment of silence followed, but suddenly, the vocalist succumbed a serious gigglefit. "Remember when we've been out camping?" he asked, turning his head to face the man beside him. "The tent was leaking too and we had to empty the bowl like every two hours because it was pouring so badly." Still, he liked the memory of that weekend, because it had been just the two of them, stuck in the tent as outside the world seemed to go down.

The memory made a small stubborn smile appear on the redhead's lips, as he wasn't able to hold it back. Even his voice was considerably less cranky as he spoke up. "And we didn't get any sleep during two nights in a row... partly because of the friggin' leaking tent."

"But that was only the smaller reason," Kyo reminded and finally rolled over until he was lying half on top of the taller man. "I do remember that we managed to forget about it very well."

"I remember that too..." Die smirked, tilting his head and looking the other deep in the eye. "How could I ever forget?"

Testing if this had been enough to soothe his lover's temper, the vocalist closed the distance between them and gave him a gentle kiss. "I don't know, but I thought you did."

"I didn't. I was just trying not to think about it as I wanted to be angry." Die admitted willingly, all the frustration like melting away from him and he tilted his head to initiate another soft kiss.

"I know." Kyo laughed softly after they had parted. "But now you can't throw me out anymore when you're angry. Now you're stuck with me."

Heh, well, it was a request but neither [livejournal.com profile] fonulyn nor I have anything against DiexKyo and I am pretty sure that we'll once write another fic of them. They are so cute together in a way^^
Thank you for reading, commenting and liking x)

[identity profile] kampffussel.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 12:40 pm (UTC)(link)

Haven't read such a 'calm' story in a while and I quite enjoyed it!

[identity profile] seinen-no.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 12:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you!
Well, smometimes we're really not up for drama and we're really suckers for these small everyday life scenes. It's good to hear that you enjoyed it too^^

[identity profile] hvergelmir.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Uwahhhh~ This one is even sweeter than the previous * w *) I like it very much! <3

"But now you can't throw me out anymore when you're angry. Now you're stuck with me." That just pawned me.

Please do more Die/Kyo! There are not enough stories of these two! D:

[identity profile] seinen-no.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw, thank you dear. Well, I'm pretty sure we'll write more DiexKyo once. It's a bit sad that people don't dig this pairing since I quite like it (despite the fact that for me DiexKao's still the OTP x)

[identity profile] nightelf-moriel.livejournal.com 2008-03-10 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Aawww I so want to see that Halloween picture 8D And I admire your Kyo for staying so calm when Die is already close to hyperventilating, they're really cute together.

You're aware that your cruelness towards Kaoru has no boundaries in this fic, right? First you give him no life, then you let him hurt his hand because he has to carry Die's and Kyo's bed, of all things XD Die even wanted to help him, pooor thing.

I couldn't help but being happy for them in the end too, though <3

[identity profile] seinen-no.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 12:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Haha, we're mean to poor Kao? Of course he can't have a life. I mean, if he can't have Die, he at least has to be his best best best friend and suffer from that x) That's his duty!
I'm glad you still enjoyed the story and I'm even more glad that you read it although it's DiexKyo and not DiexKao as usual. Everybody needs a little change at times.
Thank you!
