That's true. Some of the fics seem to always be a chliché and never have anything special. But there are some really awesome writers around (and no, I don't mean fonulyn and me) who make a difference and who make reading exciting again!
To compare your own writing is never good. Whenever I read the fic of a native speaker, I never want to write ever again, cause it's so depressing for me XD Still I do it and enjoy it.
