First Love, Last Love
Chapter 4
Like promised, Mika spent the next weekend with the two guitarists; the only change in plans being that Die had to pick her up because Kaoru was busy somehow else. They were just preparing dinner while the little girl sat at the dining table, brooding over her homework. Kaoru had made it a habit to make her do the work right after picking her up so that the rest of the weekend would be free for them.
Both the guitarists had even developed when it came to cooking, and nowadays they were able to get a decent dinner done, so they didn't need to eat canned soups or heat pizzas all along. Mika was somewhat disappointed though, since they didn't eat out and get take-away that much anymore.
Like any kid, she preferred French-fries, burgers and tacos over salad and rice, but since Kaoru and Die both had agreed on trying to eat more healthy when being at home, she had to deal with it too.
"Dad, I can't solve this arithmetic problem," the girl yelled from the living-room and Kaoru went over to help her, leaving Die alone with dinner. After a couple of minutes, the older man reappeared again though, grinning. "I think I will have to hire somebody to help her with those when she's getting older. They demand quite much from little kids these days."
"And I'm staying far away from those things!" Die announced instantly, turning his attention away from the frying pan for a moment to grin at the other man. "I don't want to bother my poor brain more than necessary."
"Well thank you for being so much of a help." The older guitarist shook his head, stepping close to the other man. Tiptoeing, he peeked into the pan, making a smacking noise to signal he wanted to taste the food. Whenever Mika was there, they had to behave themselves, but she was sitting in the living-room, not able to see them.
The redhead fished a piece of vegetable out of the pan, offering it for the other man instantly. "I can be helpful with many things, but I would only mix her up even more if I tried to interfere."
"I know, you're just braindead when it comes to maths." Kaoru mumbled chewing and then pointed at the pan with his index-finger. "I think it needs a little more salt." He turned away again and took three plates along with cutlery to take it to the living-room. "Just put the books aside a bit Mika."
Die could hear him talk to the girl, the sounds of Kaoru setting the table reaching his ears. He couldn't stop smiling somehow, as he enjoyed moments like these. Even the fact that they tried to still act like mere friends in front of the girl didn't manage to smother his mood since in the end it didn't make that much of a difference.
It only took a moment before the food was ready, and he tried to gather everything needed into his hands to take them to the living room. He almost bumped into his lover though which made both men smile. "I just get the glasses," Kaoru said and squeezed himself past the other man.
Mika never asked why Die always was around, because she knew him all her life as her dad's best friend and sometimes, she even begged him to stay over. Mostly when they had promised her to do something nice, like going to a funfair or to the zoo. When the redhead slept in the same apartment as she, it would mean that they'd get going there earlier. After all, she was a clever girl.
"You done with the homework now?" Die smiled at the girl when he got into the living room and set to food down on the table as soon as she had moved away her books. He managed to almost drop the pan but prevented it in the nick of time.
"Yeah," she nodded, smiling as well. At moments like these, she really looked like her father, had the same almond-shaped eyes, the same small mouth with a lush bottom lip and the same nose. "It wasn't that much today. But my teacher said we'll write a maths test on Thursday. Why always when the weather is so nice?"
"I have no idea," The guitarist shook his head, arranging the stuff on the table a bit before taking a seat. "I always hated maths anyways." He turned to grin at her.
"Then why do I have to learn it? You and daddy don't need it either. I will become a famous drummer anyways." The girl asked, taking a careful glance at her father who just entered the room with the glasses and a bottle of soda.
"You have to learn it just in case." Die shrugged. "Besides, we need it still since we have to make sure we get paid enough." He winked.
"But that's easy. Even I could tell that," the girl pouted, but was cut off by Kaoru. "No arguing about school. It's important. We've been talking about this. And now be a good girl and wash your hands before we get to eat." She bowed her head, not saying anything and quickly went to the bathroom.
Once she was out of sight, Kaoru grinned though. "Gosh, sometimes I enjoy being the strict parent.
It's like paying back for all the bitchin' you got from yours."
"I bet you love it." The younger man chuckled. "You just love to order people around on top of all. But I still say maths sucks! That's why I make you do all the mathematical stuff for me."
"Yeah, yeah sure." Kaoru smirked. "Though sometimes I wished I wouldn't have to be strict. It's just so nice to be the cool dad, don't you think?" Just then, Mika returned, smiling again already. "You hungry sweets?" Kaoru asked and received a nod.
"And now let's see if I managed to get this edible." Die reached out for the food, filling the plates for all of them. Of course it was edible and even the girl said she liked it. They were eating more or less silently, just enjoying playing family. At least for Kaoru it felt like that since all his beloveds were gathered around him.
At moments like that Die always thought he could get used to having the girl around more often, since it almost felt like they really were a family. But he didn't consider it as a realistic thought in any form, because Nozomi would definetely disagree with the thought of the girl living with her dad. Their hectic schedule of touring and being at the studio wouldn't allow that either. Still, it was nice to even consider it.
After they were done with eating Mika brought the plates back into the kitchen. Kaoru thought it was part of his duty to teach her manners and things like that; at least he tried to make himself believe that. If it were up to him, he'd let the girl do just as she pleased, but he knew that this wouldn't necessarily mean that he was a good father, so he was quite strict at times, had certain rules. Luckily, Die was helping him with keeping them, not playing the good cop by always letting Mika get away with things.
But Die had a bit distance to things no matter how much he had grown to care for the girl, and sometimes he was able to give the objective opinion of an outsider. He didn't like interfering when it came to bringing up the girl, but when he thought Kaoru had been too strict, or acted without thinking he addressed the topic when given the opportunity. They were simply a good team, although when Die talked to Kaoru about things concerning Mika, the older guitarist sometimes reacted annoyed. Still, he appreciated the advices and mostly took them to heart.
Despite the fun they had together that weekend, Kaoru was a bit worried about the upcoming tour. He would be away for quite some time and since they wouldn't even be in Japan, he'd have no chance to see his daughter then. He had explained it to her and promised she could come along once she was a little older, but Mika kept on begging and complaining about having to spend all her holidays with her mom and her boyfriend. It seemed to be something more serious between those two and so Nozomi naturally didn't have as much time for her as usual.
There wasn't much they could do about it though, and finally Mika stopped when her father promised to call her every given opportunity and bring her something as a souvenir. She was still frowning though, as she would've wanted to get her will through and to follow along on the tour with them. She thought that her dad's life was fascinating, and she seemed to be determined to learn to play an instrument, preferably drums, herself too.
Kaoru was still hoping it was just curiosity and that she wouldn't choose it as a life's pursuit. He really didn't want his girl to become a part of the business, no matter if it was being a musician, model, host, whatever. But he also had promised himself to support her, whichever way she'd choose once the time came. Luckily, that would still take long, at least he told himself so. Of course Mika was certain that she would become a drummer once and nothing anybody said could make her believe otherwise. She really was as strong minded as her father, Die often thought.
Despite Kaoru's fears, the tour went smoothly and even Mika settled for staying with her mom and not complaining about it. Luckily she was able to visit some friends too and wasn't stuck with her mom and her new family all the time. Nozomi's new family was growing fast, she had married her boyfriend and had given birth to their first child only a year after the wedding, not wasting any time before she was pregnant again. Apparently she was now living up to her wishes to have a huge family once and seemed to be quite happy with her life. She even got along with Kaoru again as they had learned not to annoy each other too much, and throughout the years had developed a way to be polite with each other, even remotely friendly.
Mika was slowly growing to become a young lady and she managed pretty well with the new situation, was good at school and popular with her classmates. She had learned to tell real friends from the ones who only wanted to be with her because she was the daughter of a famous guitarist. Sometimes, she complained though that it was too loud to study with her two little siblings, but she loved them nevertheless. Her visits at Kaoru's place had become more irregular though as she sometimes preferred to stay over at a friend's place, but she always tried to shift those happenings to one of the weekends when she would stay with her mother anyways.
One day after dropping Mika off at his ex-wife and shortly greeting the whole family, Kaoru and Die decided to hit some bars. They had a whole week of holidays ahead and wanted to celebrate it their way. They didn't go out as often as before anymore though, preferring to stay at home just the two of them and doing anything from watching TV to just lying on the couch and talking with each other. It didn't mean though that they would've completely let go of their all old hobbies, and thus were heading for a drink at this place they knew quite well and had always liked to go to.
It turned out to be just what both of them had needed and they even met a couple of old friends. It was nice and cheerie, both of them being a bit drunk when they finally decided to get home. Since Die's apartment was only a few blocks away, he suggested walking there, the night being pretty and warm still.
The redhead fumbled with his keys for a moment before he managed to get the door opened, letting both of them in. He curled his nose as he stepped in though, heading straight to the window to open it. "Gosh, we need some fresh air around here. I should remember to open the windows more often..."
Kaoru chuckled, kicking off his shoes. Apparently, they hadn't been there in longer without either of them even realizing it. He followed his lover into the living-room and plucked some dry brown leaves of a lonely plant. "And you should water your plants more often too."
"I always forget those poor things." Die shook his head, giving the plant a short glance. He headed straight to the kitchen though, being hungry. "You want something to eat?"
"Hell yeah. Something... salty or so. I'm starving." It was an exaggeration, but the alcohol they had consumed had made both of them hungry. Curious, Kaoru followed Die into the kitchen as well to see what he got.
Instantly when the redhead opened the fridge he pulled back a bit, making a disgusted face. "Well... maybe we should order something. Those things will soon WALK out of there..."
"Gosh, was that cheese or what?" Kaoru curled his nose before turning away from the fridge. "You think there's still somebody who'll bring us something to eat at this time?" He was chuckling again, leaning against the doorframe.
"I have no idea." Die shook his head, closing the fridge again. "But I know I won't be eating those at least."
"Know what? I will now go and get us something from this suspicious Chinese eatery around the corner while YOU get rid of the smell in your fridge and save those beers in there." Kaoru smirked, slapped the other's butt and headed out without waiting for a reply. Grumbling a bit, the redhead did as he had been told, trying to survive through the masses of ruined food. Thankfully he hadn't had much stuff in his fridge anyways, and he managed to sort it out rather well.
As if the older man had known it, he returned at the moment Die had flushed some indefinable food down the toilet. "I bring us," he looked at the cartons in his hands, "something to eat at least."
"Thank god for that." Die chuckled, heading to sit on the couch in the living room, not minding that it was somewhat dusty. "Now gimme some of that food before I starve to death."
"Choose a carton." Grinning, Kaoru held up both hands weighing the food while he was waiting for a decision from his lover.
"The blue one." The younger man pointed at the one that was closer to him. The older man gave it to him along with some chopsticks and then sat down on the other side of the couch. He really was hungry and so opened the carton, attacking whatever was inside. "As long as it tastes good, I don't even need to know what it is," he stated chewing.
"As long as it's edible it doesn't even need to taste good." Die informed the older man, his mouth full of food as he was trying to desperately chew on it.
"You're impossible." Kaoru pulled his legs up, stuffing huge amounts of what was supposed to be noodles into his mouth. Suddenly, he looked up, questioning the other man with his gaze. "Say, did you change the sheets after last time...?"
"Change the sheets?" The redhead looked pricelessly puzzled. "Whaddya mean? I dunno..."
"Ewww." The older curled his nose again, pulling a disgusted face. "Because I just remembered what we did here the last time. Lemme give you a hint: whipped cream..."
"Oh god." Die closed his eyes, tilting his head backwards. "I don't even want to imagine how the bedroom must look like..."
"Why don't we move in together," Kaoru said by the way. "Would prevent us from unpleasant surprises." Only when the last word had left his lips, he realized what he had said and turned his head to look at the other man. Swallowing the last noodles, he nodded slowly. "I mean it."
The younger man had startled a bit at the words, staring at his lover for a moment to see if he really meant it. "I wouldn't mind." He allowed a smile to appear on his face. "That'd be awesome. But only if you're sure you want to."
"Yeah. I want to." Kaoru nodded again to emphasize his seriousness about that matter. "We're practically living together already, so it's really not that big of a deal, right?"
"Except when Mika comes for a weekend." Die pretended to be interested in his food, although he was looking at Kaoru from the corner of his eyes. He had kept his tone casual though, but he was serious. Mika still wasn't supposed to know about them, and how would they explain that they suddenly lived together?
"Well, we could tell her that we're moving in together because of work and because we hang out at each other's places anyways. Besides, it's easier to keep one apartment clean together than two alone." Kaoru still didn't go on eating and looked at the other man straight. "We could figure something out."
"I would love to live with you, really." Finally the redhead looked up, straight into the other's eyes. "I guess I just... well, we have to be careful when she comes to visit then. We'll manage it."
"We've managed so far and she knows you for so long that she will hardly notice the difference." The older guitarist said pondering. "So we go apartment-hunting together?" A small smile caressed his lips and he leaned forward to put the food-carton on the table.
"Definitely." Die's smile brightened considerably. "Does it mean I won't need to go and see how awful the bedroom looks now?"
"Nope, it means you should quickly go and check the bedroom, because I want clean sheets to make them all dirty again." Kaoru smirked, put his hand in the back of the redhead's neck and pulled him close, initiating a deep kiss.
The redhead didn't hurry, trying to hold on to the kiss for as long as possible, even moving to deepen it. As they parted, he let out a deep sigh though, trying to look miserable. "Alright. If I'm not back in an hour then call someone to rescue me."
"I'll be your backup. Don't worry. Just hit the door with something and I call a swat team to get you," the older guitarist winked merrily.
"And of course you're not offering any help cleaning up." Die sighed, rolling his eyes theatrically and getting up from the couch finally. "But I'll go. See how much I'm willing to do for you?"
"Just do that and when you succeed, you shall get a very, very special reward." The last words were spoken with a definite suggestive undertone and Kaoru leaned back against the armrest of the couch, looking at his lover with sparkling eyes.
"Wow." The younger man chuckled, the sparkle in his eyes showing clearly that he liked the thought already. Quickly he disappeared in the bedroom, thinking it'd be best to get it over with. Content with this reaction, Kaoru followed him with his gaze. He got comfortable on the couch, shifting until he was almost lying and only waited for a sign from his lover to be allowed to follow him.
It took a long while before Die re-appeared in the doorframe, leaning against it and looking at the other man. "Done now. Only the bed though, I won't clean more than that."
"Does it smell?" The older man asked frowning, not making a move to get up just yet.
"No." Die shook his head. "I opened the window and threw the sheets away. It should be alright. But we can sleep on the couch too if you wanna."
"Are you kiddin' me? My back will kill me then." Within the blink of an eye, Kaoru was on his feet and stood in front of his lover. "You threw the sheets away?" he asked chuckling, toying with the buttons of the other's shirt. "How decadent."
"They were just... disgusting." The younger man answered with a grin. "And I don't want to see them ever again."
"You don't need to explain. Just get out of the way, strip and get on the bed so that you can get your reward." The drinks they had had along with the decision to move in together had brightened Kaoru's mood so much that he was feeling like getting the new sheets so dirty again that they would have to be thrown away as well.
"That sounds promising." Die chuckled, moving backwards slowly and into the bedroom. "I like it when you go into that mode."
"You mean the I'm-drunk-and-horny-and-wanna-nail-your-brains-out -mode?" The older man simply purred those words and followed his lover, his fingers already undoing the first buttons of the redhead's shirt.
"Exactly." Die smiled, only stopping when the back of his legs touched the edge of the bed. "Then you just take what you want."
"So you like me greedy?" With a smooth handmovement, Kaoru tore the remaining buttons open and pushed the garment over the other man's shoulders, sliding his palms over the warm, soft skin.
"You know I like you always." The answer came only as a low purr, as Die based his hands on the other's hips to pull him closer. "But it has this certain little... extra to it when you're all demanding."
"Hmm," the older man purred, nibbling his lover's neck. He had wrapped his arms around Die's waist and now simply dropped the shirt to slowly caress his back. Suddenly though, he gave the other a shove which caused him to fall backwards onto the mattress. Quickly, he knelt down on the bed's edge and unhesitantly opened his lover's jeans, slowly pulling down the zipper.
The redhead just looked at him, a smile dancing on his lips. He hadn't lied, since it turned him on to no end when his lover just took what he wanted, showing clearly that he wanted him. Swiftly, Kaoru pushed his hand into his lover's pants, brushing through the pubes and further to the arousal he found there. Coevally, he leaned forward, bringing his lips close to Die's. It turned him on as well when Die allowed him to do as he wished and just looked at him in this special way, promising, making his heart beat quicker and causing shivers down his spine.
The touch alone made the younger man gasp, his breath hitching in his throat as he tried to instinctively arch up to gain more friction. He ran his hands down his lover's sides, determined to get rid of his pants. But before the older man allowed him to do that, he tugged Die's jeans down completely. Kaoru kept his movements deliberately slow, taking his time with getting him out of the trouser-legs.
Die growled a bit displeased as his lover made him stop fumbling on his pants since he would've wanted to have both of them without any unneeded garments as soon as possible. He settled for waiting though and tried to patiently see what the other man would do.
When the jeans were lying on the floor, Kaoru turned his attention to his lover's legs, first only planting chaste kisses on his knee. The further he moved upwards though, the more he used his tongue and teeth, finally licking and nibbling the sensitive skin on the inside of the other's thighs. Suddenly, he stopped though as if he had come back to his senses, signalling that he wanted to get rid of his own pants as well.
It took a second before Die managed to focus enough to realize it, but instantly he moved his hands on the other's jeans, unzipping them ably. He had locked his eyes on his lover's face though, not turning his gaze away for a second even. Kaoru smirked, but eventually grew impatient and aided his lover, first stripping off his own shirt and then kicking off his pants. Instantly, he re-created the eye-contact, reached out his hand, grabbing a fistful of hair to pull the other up a bit, crushing their mouths together in a heated kiss.
It earned a mewl from the redhead, and instantly his hands shot up to tangle his fingers into the other's hair, to keep him in place and deepen the contact. He simply loved the skin on skin contact, arching upwards to gain more of it, as much as he was able to get. Like testing the water, the older grinded his hips against his lover's, causing both of them to gasp for a second before they resumed the kiss with even more force. With his left hand, he fumbled blindly for the bedside table, opening the top drawer to get the lube. That item was the only thing which was always in its place, no matter how messed up the flat was sometimes.
As the older man moved their bodies against each other again, Die swiftly wrapped his legs around his hips, not allowing him to pull back again. He simply needed the friction, needed to be close to the other and tried to grind against him as much as possible. The action elicited a low moan from Kaoru and he pulled back a bit, smirking at his lover open mouthed. With his teeth, he opened the lube and again used his mouth to squeeze some into one hand while he backed himself up with the other.
"Impatient, are we?" Slowly, he pushed his lubed hand between their bodies, brushed over the other's arousal and moved it to his butt, unhesitantly inserting a finger. It earned him a groan, the younger's grin faltering for a moment. "Impatient? Not at all..." One could sense it in his movements though, that he wanted the other already impatiently despite his words.
A second digit followed the first and the older man brought his lips close to his lover's ear. "In that case," he whispered, his hot breath striking the other's skin, "release me." Deliberately, Kaoru waited a few moments before he continued with a firm voice, "And turn."
"Turn?" Die arched an eyebrow, reluctantly unfolding his legs from around the other and allowing him to move freely again. Kaoru removed his fingers and sat up, displaying a smug smile. "Around on your hands and knees," he finished the sentence, like absent-mindedly running his hand along the other's length.
The younger man gasped, his eyes falling shut on their own as he arched a bit into the touch. He managed to get a grip of himself forcing himself to turn around and do as he was told. For a short moment, Kaoru roamed his gaze down his lover's back, memorizing everything, the way how his shoulderblades stuck out, almost piercing through the perfect skin, the way his spine bent when he shifted backwards a bit like offering himself.
"You really got a nice tan in the US," the older man remarked and planted a few kisses on the other's lower back before he grabbed his hips firmly and penetrated him. He did it slowly, carefully for he hadn't wasted much effort on stretching his lover properly and didn't want to hurt him. The randomly clenching muscles around him though almost caused him to lose it and made him move quicker until he was buried inside completely.
The redhead had been about to reply something, but the first word already turned into a long, incoherent groan. The feeling of being so intensely filled never failed to drive him higher, and he instinctively pushed back in an attempt to make the other move already, needing him. There wasn't much urging needed and Kaoru picked up a steady pace. He had closed his eyes, surrendering to the feelings which were flooding his consciousness.
Only after a few moments, he looked up to relish the sight before him. "I still say you are impatient." The words came out surprisingly steady and to underline them, he thrust forwards fast and hard a couple of times, making both of them groan in ecstasy.
Die was panting already, his breath coming in gasps as he tried to swallow to make his voice steady enough to speak. All he got out was "Am not." followed by a long, low groan as he tried to build up enough resistance to meet the thrusts.
The words made Kaoru smile and he slowed down a bit again, wanting to sample the moment's pleasure as long as possible. It wasn't of much use though because he already felt the heat inside him melt down to a tiny spark in his groin, predicting that he wouldn't last much longer. "Are too," he growled still almost getting desperate himself because his body demanded him to pick up the pace again and yet he tried to resist to tease his lover.
The younger man whimpered almost desperately, closing his eyes tight to try to get a grip of himself. It was of no use though, as he simply needed more already, his whole being begging for it. He was stubborn, and hadn't wanted to ask for more freewillingly, but he couldn't help it any longer, forcing out a few words between his harsh, ragged breaths. "Alright, I am."
"I knew it." Kaoru kept up the slow movements for a couple of seconds still, but then increased them until he was practically nailing his lover. He enjoyed these little teasing games as it blurred the borders between pleasure and desperation, caused bittersweet sensations to run through his body and he knew it did the same to the other man. Wheezing, he withdrew one hand from the redhead's hip, leaned forward and wrapped his arm around him, reaching for his arousal. He was so close already, only inches away.
The force of the movements had made Die's arms give in underneath him and he fell forward, until he was only steadying himself up with his elbows not to drop face down into the cushions. He was only trying to gasp for breath, every single thought drowned out by the feelings the other made him go through. He was practically teetering on the edge, the maddening pleasure adding up inside of him until suddenly he tensed almost violently, the climax hitting him with force and making him see stars.
Feeling his lover's release run over his hand along with the randomly clenching and relaxing muscles around his hardness, adding more friction to his movements, was all Kaoru had needed. For a second, he stilled completely, groaning as the orgasm washed over him, causing the incredible heat to shoot along his veins. During those few blissful moments, every single thought was erased from his mind, no worry, no happiness, his whole body seemingly consisting of pleasure.
When the first strong sensation slowly faded, he pulled away from his lover and dropped to the side, taking the other with him. Slowly Die relaxed against the other, closing his eyes and just concentrating on the feeling of bliss they were both still lingering in. He couldn't stop smiling, just feeling all too content right now.
Gushingly, Kaoru planted a few kisses on his neck, pulling him closer against his chest. He was waiting until the aftermath they both were in was lifted a bit, their respiration slowly coming back to normal. "See," he began with a raspy voice, "I was right in the end."
"You like that, huh?" The younger man chuckled, tilting his head a bit to take a peek at the other. "To be right, I mean."
"That's just a matter of fact," the older stated cocky and used the opportunity to peck the other's lips. "It's just that other people sometimes refuse to see it."
"I just can't help but to love you." Die turned around in the other's arms to be able to kiss him properly, nuzzling as close to him as possible.
"So you think you'll bear me when we live in one apartment together 24/7?" Kaoru asked after the kiss broke and he pressed his forehead against his lover's collarbone.
"I think I might just manage." The younger man chuckled, sneaking his arms around the other.
They staid awake for long still, just lying there silently, their legs entangled, happy to have the other there. Both were looking forward to the apartment-hunting since it was signalling that they were serious with each other. It was especially important for Die to see that Kaoru wanted to share his life with him despite the hiding from his daughter.
Together, they came to the conclusion that they would need a big apartment with one room for Mika and one working room which they could tell was Die's whenever the girl was visiting them. Luckily, they didn't have to worry about money that much so that it shouldn't be a problem to find something suitable. In addition they got lucky and didn't have to go through that many places before they actually found a couple flats they liked, and after seeing all of them again they decided for one of them, a neat apartment with enough room for three.
The next time Mika came for a weekend visit her father told her that he and Die would be moving to another apartment, sharing it since they needed to work so much together and they would spare in rent when there was two of them paying for it. She didn't question it with a single word, simply asked enthusiastically if she could come and help them with the moving when the day came.
Of course they told her they would appreciate her help although a young girl like her would probably be more in the way in reality. But neither of them bothered about it. Since Kaoru wanted to give her the opportunity to decorate her room the way she wanted, he asked Nozomi to allow him to take her to some furniture stores during the week. His ex-wife and he got along a lot better lately and she seemed to have accepted the fact that he and Die were serious about their relationship. She even offered him to help with moving. Of course he declined, but appreciated the gesture nevertheless.
When Die, Mika and he were walking through the stores to find fitting furniture, he first realized that his daughter had grown up quite a lot already since she wanted 'cool' stuff and nothing with little teddies or ponies anymore. They spent almost a whole day going through stores, trying to find everything they needed. As they got hungry they stopped to a burger-place, getting something to eat to fill their grumbling stomachs. It was late in the evening, the shops already closing their doors when they took the girl back home, promising to pick her up again in the morning of the day when they would move.
Kaoru was complaining about his daughter who was having an exquisite taste. No matter at what she pointed, was it a desk or a chair, it was certainly the most expensive one. "That," he said, "she must have inherited from her mother." Die and he had decided to charge a moving-company with taking their stuff from the two apartments to the new one, but since some of their furniture was just old, they bought some things together, partly to give their apartment a common touch.
"Don't you try Kao," Die had to laugh at the dry comment, along with the slight frown on his lover's face. "You have an expensive taste as well, and you know it."
The older man poked out his tongue at his lover and shook his head. "That's just because I only want the best and that's very often the most expensive." He was pouting playfully as they stepped into his apartment which was already stuffed with boxes, ready to be picked up by the movers.
"But sometimes the best things are totally free." The redhead had to point out with a grin, as he followed the other inside. He had been in his own apartment and packed everything needed, actually he had even thrown half of the stuff away.
Kaoru still didn't have too much since he hadn't bought a lot of fancy things after breaking up with Nozomi. "Sure sure," he said mock-annoyed, "like love. That's what you meant, right?" With having said the last words, he turned and looked at the other man from over his shoulder, grinning.
"I actually meant me." Die laughed, looking straight back at the other from sparkling eyes.
"And where exactly is the difference?" Slowly, the older guitarist approached him, smiling softly. The question made the redhead frown thoughtfully, pursing his lips as he tried to come up with something. Eventually he ended up shaking his head though. "I dunno..."
"Sometimes," Kaoru gave away, his fingers grabbing the cuff of his lover's pants, "you are just plain adorable." After ending the sentence, he used his grip to pull the other near and gave him a chaste kiss.
It earned a happy smile from the younger man, as he obviously took it as a compliment. "Anything for you."
