seinen_no: Oh my, it's over. Hmm, I don't have a clear idea about what to say to you all. Only that it's been really making me (us) happy (again) that you do like the story and that you all stuck with us throughout it. It's somehow funny to read this again for me, because we finished this some time ago already and have been working on our next fics (yeah, you won't get rid of us so soon^^). So now, with a bit of distance, I really enjoyed re-reading it too (selfpraise). However, I better shut up now and hope you're content with the ending… Have fun and I hug you all!
fonulyn: Well, I would first of all like to thank everyone who’s been reading and commenting^^ heh, although we mainly write just to keep ourselves entertained, it’s nice to hear that other people like something we come up with too. It’s been a real pleasure again, and we both hope to see you again when we bring you more to read ;) The next is on its way!

Against All Odds
Chapter 8
The day was perfect until their parents returned home and they had to get a hold of themselves not to give away anything about their love for each other. They got used to it though and managed to create their own language, communicating with their eyes or with small touches. For Kaoru, it was still painful not to be able to spend the breaks at school with the other, but from time to time, they just stole away, smoking a cigarette together behind the janitor's house or stealing a short kiss when they were sure nobody would see them.
The happiness that filled their lives overpowered the annoyance about hiding by far and they became true experts in finding the time or the right place to be together alone. The nearer the date of birth of their new sibling came, the more they were ignored by their parents which gave them the opportunity to retreat to their room more often. Sometimes, they went to the cinema, took place in the last row, only to make out in the safety of the darkness when the movie had begun.
All in all everything went well, and they were content that they got to spend so much time together. Die's mother only noticed that the two teenagers seemed to have become good friends and it made her smile, as she thought they would be a big help after the new child was born. Eventually that day came too, and Die and Kaoru took the most of the couple of days where they were home alone, because Die's mom was in hospital. But when she returned with the new child, things became rather hectic.
For the first time, their new sister would sleep in the parent's bedroom, but it wasn't sure what would happen after the first year or so. Kaoru still was determined to move out, but had decided to try to go to university near this town so that he wouldn't be too far away from Die. The living conditions in the house were rather cramped and since Die's mom expected them to help with the household, they didn't have as much free time together as before. The worst was that they were kind of watched constantly, always had to look out that nobody caught them whenever they shared a small kiss or a single touch.
It was as if Die's mom had developed a seventh sense and whenever there was a moment of peace, she called for either of them to help her with something or to take care of the baby. To make things worse, their new sister wasn't a quiet baby and often screamed throughout the night, robbing everybody's nerve. It was more than hard for Kaoru to concentrate on his studies, his final exams coming up soon. And since the days had become quite cold already, he didn't even have the chance to go outside into a park and learn there.
Seeing that the other would have his final exams soon, Die tried to be as helpful as possible and to take some of the stress off him. It worked somewhat, but resulted in them not being able to even study together like they used to, and Die's grades suffered from it. He didn't care about that though, but he missed the time they used to spend together. Before the child had been born they had been able to even sleep together in one bed every once in a while, but now Die's mom just might run into the room in the middle of the night even, and it was no longer possible.
It had been a stressy day for the two since they had aided Die's mom in the household, had cleaned the whole place and just done everything to sooth her bad temper. Kaoru was lying on his bed, covering his eyes with his forearm. "Die, it can't go on like that. I will fail my final exams and you will have to repeat this whole year if we don't change anything. We need to talk to her and ask her to give us some time to concentrate on our studies." He looked up, searching for the other's gaze. If there was one thing he wouldn't want, then it was that Die had to repeat this year. They had agreed on going to the same university, maybe even moving to Tokyo once Die had finished school. But for that, he needed good grades.
"I know." Die sighed, hugging his legs close to his chest. He was sitting at the end of the other's bed. "Let's just try to reason with her. And if she doesn't get it, we could try to talk to your dad, he knows how important school is." He wanted so badly just some moments together with the other boy right now, because their time together was getting less and less as it seemed.
After a moment of silence, Kaoru nodded, got on his hands and feet and pressed a short kiss on the other's lips. "Now is just as good as any other moment. Let's talk to her." With having said that, he walked towards the door, waiting for Die to follow him. The silence in the house told them that their sister was sleeping soundly for once and they quickly descended the stairs and walked into the living-room.
"Akane, can we talk to you for a moment?" Kaoru was chewing on his bottom lip nervously, but gave his voice a determined and firm undertone. Die stood right behind him, looking seriously at his mother. "It's important."
She gave them a tired automatic smile, nodding shortly. "Okay. But make it short since I need to get some rest while she's asleep." She truly looked stressed and tired, with dark circles under her eyes.
"That's the point," the older boy began tentatively, "we need a break too. I have to focus on my final exams and Die will fail this whole year if we can't study properly. All we're asking for is one or two hours a day where you leave us alone. Afterwards, we gladly help you with everything."
"You know I've never been too much up for studying, but I need to if I intend to get into another school after I finish this one." The redhead looked at his mother seriously. He really didn't want to fail the whole year, which would mean one more year of living at home and being away from Kaoru.
"I'm sorry." The woman rubbed her temple with her index-finger. "I know I've been asking a lot from you lately." She looked at them tiredly and then nodded. "Okay, I will try to keep the stress from you for one or two hours a day. Just put a sign at your door when you're studying and I won't bother you. How does that sound?"
"Thanks mom." Die stepped closer to peck her cheek quickly. "That'd be really cool." That sounded more than perfect, if it'd mean she wouldn't come in during those hours either.
"Welcome. And now please grant me a moment of peace." She waved her hand dismissively and both boys quickly retreated before she could change her mind or have one of her outbursts.
Once in their room, Kaoru went straight to their desk, took a sheet of paper and wrote 'Keep out! Massive studying' on it.
"Massive studying?" Die chuckled, looking at the words the other wrote. "At least we now get a short moment of peace each day."
"Yeah." Kaoru tilted his head a bit to look at him. "But it will be really hard to use those moments really for studying."
"I know." The other grinned a bit. "Maybe we just study half of it and then reward ourselves for job well done?"
Grinning, the older handed him the sign and nodded towards the door. "Put that up." Obediently Die placed it on the doorhandle outside, before closing the door. He hadn't noticed that Kaoru had followed him silently before he now wrapped his arms around his waist from behind, kissing his neck. "I just need a bit encouragement before we study today."
"You can have a lot of encouragement if it's me to decide." The redhead smiled, leaning into the embrace. Just being close to the other for this short moment already made the stress leave Kaoru's limbs and he felt that it wouldn't be too hard to concentrate when they both had to study. This sign proved to be a god's gift since it enabled them to really focus on work and to spend some time and exchange a bit of tenderness.
Soon, they had developed some kind of routine. First going through Die's and Kaoru's studies, then rewarding themselves for being so busy like the redhead had said. It even worked and they all were content with the arrangement. Of course at times they would've wanted to spend more time just the two of them, but they settled for this and took what they were able to. The thing that made Die utterly nervous though was that the end of the school year was getting nearer, and then they would only have the beginning of the summer before Kaoru would leave.
At Die's birthday, Kaoru kidnapped him and they spent the whole weekend in Tokyo. He had asked an old friend if they could stay at his place and used all his money for the train trip. But it proved to be worth the effort since the redhead was truly amazed by the bright citylights and by its beauty as Kaoru knew the best spots where no tourist was ever seen. This weekend was one glimpse of hope in an otherwise dark and monotonous everyday life.
Although Die's mom mostly respected the sign on the door, they still were on guard all the time whenever they weren't studying. Despite that, it was quite hard to have a fulfilling sexlife when all they had was only a short moment. They did their best though, stealing extra moments whenever possible. And when their parents visited some relatives with the newborn child they used school as an excuse and staid at home. Practically they spent the whole free days just being together though, trying to make it up for all the lost time.
Shortly after New Year, when all the holidays were over, every relative had been visited, they were suffering from a long dry-spell and it drove Kaoru almost insane not to be able to be together with the other as much as he wanted. One day, he had just put up the sign on their door, he ignored the books on the table and instead pushed Die down on the bed, following him quickly.
"No studying today it seems?" Die chuckled, but didn't seem to mind as he wrapped his legs around the other, pulling him closer and leaning to initiate a deep kiss.
The older's answer was drowned out by the kiss and he simply had to grind against the other, sliding his hands under his shirt. "I thought we study biology today," he breathed out after they had parted.
"And what is today's lesson?" The younger tried to sound professional, but couldn't resist initiating another breathtaking kiss.
Kaoru had rolled up the other's shirt to his armpits and slowly ran his fingernails down his sides, the touch barely there. It simply had been too long since they had shared a moment like this and passion was rising quickly. "I'd say we study the effect pleasure has on the human body." The words were only whispered right before he initiated the next hungry kiss, his left hand travelling down to Die's groin.
Die was already panting as they parted, and he needed to swallow before he got his voice steady enough to speak. "Sounds like an interesting topic." He tried to arch up towards the other, his hands moving to Kaoru's butt on their own.
"It is." A deep moan escaped the older and he almost frantically tried to open Die's jeans, unhesitantly sliding his hand inside once he had succeeded. Just wanting to taste the other, he nibbled and licked his neck up to his ear and back down.
"Gosh," The redhead tilted his head to offer him more skin, and when he felt he touc,h it made him buck up instantly. He hadn't even realized how badly he just simply wanted the other already.
In the heat of passion, neither of them heard the steps on the stairs and didn't even notice the opening door until a high-pitched scream sounded through the house. Kaoru flinched and automatically retreated his hand, staring at Die's mother disbelievingly. "You ... you..." She was obviously looking for words. "Get your filthy hands off my son!" The baby began to scream, woken by the noise and Kaoru's father rushed up the steps to see what had happened.
"Mom, calm down." Die just said the first thing that popped into his mind, as to him she was clearly overreacting. Instinctively he took a hold of Kaoru's hand, trying to seek some sort of safety from him. Kaoru's father was panting slightly as he'd run up the stairs, and now he was standing behind his wife, his eyes widened in surprise.
"Don't you tell me what to do!" The woman was fuming and grabbed the collar of Kaoru's shirt, yanking him away from the redhead. "I said get off him. What do you think you're doing?" The older boy remained silent, knowing that every word would make things even worse.
Kaoru's father had collected his breath enough and now glared at his son. "Kaoru, I am disappointed. I always knew you had some weird preferences, but with your own brother..."
"Step-brother." The older corrected him and earned a slap in the face from his father. "Out of my house! I never want to see you again!" The woman was raging and pushed the pink-haired towards the door.
"Mom! You can't just throw him out!" Die was practically panicking, jumping up to his feet and trying to grab Kaoru's arm. "It's not even his fault. Besides, nothing bad has happened." He knew it would be useless to try to reason, but he had to try. Had to try and keep his life from going down the drain.
"And that's supposed to calm me?" The woman screamed and finally slapped Die as well to make him let go. "Leave! I don't ever want you near my house again. You spoiled my son."
Kaoru looked pleadingly at his father. If they threw him out, where should he go and what would become of him and Die? "Dad..." he begged, but his father shook his head, looking at him with cold eyes. "She's right. It's best if you leave. I will give you some money for a hotel for the first days and you can get your stuff tomorrow."
"But no one spoiled anything before you just decided to overreact." There was some frustrated tears burning in Die's eyes and he was practically furious, not able to control himself. All he got was a cold look from his mother though. "You be quiet young man. I would've never thought this of you."
For a second, Kaoru's gaze met Die's and he nodded almost unnoticeably. It would be better to just do as the grown-ups said and wait until they had calmed down before trying to talk to them again. At least they would see each other at school, if only for a few more months before the older was through with it. 'Love you'. Kaoru formed the words with his mouth and then allowed his father to guide him to the door, only grabbing a few things he would need.
"And you young man," Die's mother turned to glare at her son, "are grounded. No parties, no leaving the house, no playing computer and no watching TV for some time." With a bang, the door closed behind her as she wanted to make sure Kaoru really left her house.
Somehow hearing the door bang shut broke the barriers inside the redhead, and he slid to the ground, burying his face into his hands and breaking into hysterical sobs. Only a couple of minutes, and his whole life had turned upside down, he had lost all he had wanted to have. At that moment he hated his mother more than he'd ever thought would be possible.
Kaoru saw things more rational, although he acted like a robot when he took the small bag with his belongings and marched to the bus-stop to get to a cheap hotel. He was sure that after things had cooled down, even Die's mom would be reasonable enough to allow them to talk about it. Besides, he was sure of his feelings for the other and that made things easier. If he had known what awaited them, he would've probably broken down just like his lover.
Die staid in their room for the whole evening, refusing to come down to eat or to do anything else for that matter. In his mind he was going through all the possibilities how to make things better but could come up with none. Finally he just crawled into Kaoru's ugly bed, pulling the covers over himself and inhaling the familiar scent, trying to imagine the other there with him.
In the middle of the night, his mobile beeped, because Kaoru had sent him a short text message. He hadn't dared to call him yet, unsure if Die's mother could overhear it. Although he felt very lonely in the strange cold bed and missed the other's presence badly, he didn't tell Die about it not to worry him too much. He told him they would meet at school and could talk there.
But Die's mother had thought about that too and had asked the teachers to keep Die inside during the breaks, telling them something about him being overly rebellious at the moment and that he needed to focus on his studies. So throughout the next days, Kaoru was waiting in vain behind the small janitor's house.
Die was overly frustrated since they couldn't meet, and at first he just neglected his studies and everything. But he knew that he still needed to pass the courses and to get out of the school after the next year, and the hopes of getting to be with the other after that at least got him to pay more attention again. He practically ignored his friends too, not even caring that it would make him even more lonely since after some time he wouldn't even have anyone to talk to even shallowly.
As often as possible, they tried to call each other on the phone or sent short messages to let the other know what had happened in their lives or to just send a short 'I love you'. Kaoru had found a small pension where he was living now, working after school to afford the rent. Despite his high hopes that everything would cool down after some time, he was proven wrong as Die's mother seemed to become only more and more protective. His birthday came and went without them having the chance to meet. But after more than two months, he received a message where Die told him that his parents would be gone for the weekend, visiting some relatives.
It was the first time when his mother allowed him to even stay home alone, as this far there always had been someone to keep an eye on him on one way or another. Die had his hopes high, as now he'd at least get to meet the other, to talk to him and try to work things out with his help maybe. Although he knew nothing much even could be done.
Kaoru's heart was beating loudly in his chest when he stood in front of the door in the late evening of Friday night. His whole being was yearning for the other's proximity, to be close to him if only for a limited amount of time. Die was home alone already and he knew who would be behind the door as the doorbell rang. As soon as he flung the door open he practically threw himself at the other, hugging him tight, not caring if someone might see.
But the older cared, because he wasn't sure if some of the neighbours were spies of Die's mother. So he quickly moved inside and closed the door behind him, hugging the other back as tightly as possible. "I missed you so much." His voice was muffled due to the lump in his throat and he just lifted his head to steal a kiss.
The redhead kissed back almost desperately, pressing his forehead against the other's as they parted. "I miss you. And I don't want to go on like this anymore."
"Shht, don't say that." Kaoru shook his head. "You need to finish school. Just pretend to be the good boy you are and make them allow you to pick a university far from here. We can't possibly afford to live together right now. Besides," he looked deep in the other's eyes, a sad expression on the face. "You are a minor just like me. They can decide what you do and what not."
"I know!" Die just hugged the other tight again, like trying to cling to him for life. "I just hate it. It's not fair, and everyone knows it." He still didn't know what to do but was happy that they at least got this short moment.
"Let's just not think about this for now." With a small smile, Kaoru pecked the other's lips shortly, then again a bit longer and then kissed him hungrily. It had been a tough time, being forced apart while he knew the other was missing him as much as he did and now he only wanted to use the time they had been given to make it up to that as best as possible.
The younger just mewled into the kiss, bringing his hands into the other's hair to keep his head on place. He had missed the other so much, had missed his kisses, his scent, his mere presence to the point that it almost drove him mad.
At one point, Kaoru lifted him up and stumbled towards the couch in the living-room, practically falling down on it together with the other. His mind was blank of thoughts and fears, only filled with his lover's presence. Instantly Die pulled the other closer, just needing him as close as possible. "I love you." He confessed in between of two feverish kisses.
"Too!" The older managed to breathe out just before his lips were sealed by the other's again. He wasn't sure what was more vital, to have Die close, to kiss him and hear his voice or to feel him completely, to be united in the literal meaning of the word once again.
Although the redhead knew that they now had at least this evening before the parents would come back he still couldn't help but to be slightly paranoid. It was like the time was running out and all they had were just a few vanishing moments.
"Gods, I need you Die." Kaoru confessed, running his palms along the younger's back with a certain pressure to press him closer to himself. It was unfair. When you do something you hate, time passes slowly like quicksilver, but when you're in the arms of the one you love, it flies by.
"I need you too, so badly." Die practically only breathed out, trying to grind against the other as best as he could, to get him nearer. Frantically Kaoru tugged at the other's shirt and tried to get rid of it, wanting to feel his skin against his own. Willingly the redhead aided the other with his shirt, before going for the other's shirt to tug it upwards as well.
This time, Kaoru heard the door clap and flinched, almost pushing Die off him. "Daisuke! Are you home? We missed the train and now have to take the one five hours later." His mother shouted through the house, switched on the lights in the living-room and instantly screamed when she spotted the pink-haired boy.
They had managed to get into a decent sitting position, and somehow Die had managed to even dish his shirt and pull it on almost properly. He tried to look as casual as possible, probably failing miserably though. Kaoru's father appeared into the doorframe as well as he heard his wife scream, and what he saw made him frown. "What are you doing here?"
"I- I was just visiting the- the one I love," Kaoru stuttered. He thought it was useless to deny everything and just went for the truth. "The one you love?" Die's mother screamed again. "You bastard. Leave, before I call the police and have you removed."
"Mom." Die tried to plead with his eyes, grabbing Kaoru's hand in his. "It's true. And I love him. I really do. Please don't make him go away again." He knew it was one chance against 100 that his mother would even consider it, but he had to try nevertheless.
"Daisuke, go to your room and pack some things. You will come with us to visit your aunt and uncle." She shook her head and broke the connection between their hands, yanking Kaoru's arm. "You don't know what love is and this certainly isn't."
"Mother!" The redhead tried, but hung his head as he saw the stares both their parents gave him. "I'll go. But you're wrong about what you said." He turned to look the older teen in the eye, smiling slightly at him. “I do know.” He felt crushed, but thought that it would be best if he was strong, for both of them.
Kaoru didn't feel like smiling anymore and fought to suppress the tears that finally rose in his eyes. He had been waiting for this moment, yearning to be together with the other and now they were separated again. Reluctantly, he let himself be pushed to the door by his father and then stood outside. To make things worse, it had begun to pour and he didn't have an umbrella or a hoodie.
Die's mother followed him to his room, and didn't let him out of his sight the whole evening. To Die it seemed that the woman would now watch his every step and make him sleep in the same room or cuff him to his bed to make sure he wouldn't do anything she considered stupid. He did whatever he was told to do, but didn't say a word to his mother nor to his step-father, trying to show he didn't agree with their decisions.
They made him come to visit the relatives and when they returned, Die's mother took away his mobile, telling him she didn't want him to contact Kaoru. The pink-haired didn't have too much time to dwell in grief though as he really had to focus on his studies, as the final exams had already begun. It was only two weeks later, Die had returned from school, when his mother told him that they would move to another city into a bigger house.
The news made Die practically panic, as that would bring him even further from Kaoru. He tried to plead, to beg his mother to let him meet him once, even with she present all the time, just that they'd get to exchange a few words. But she wasn't willing to grant them that, and after some time Die just gave up as he wasn't getting anywhere. He had no idea how he'd let the other know that they were going to move, and he wasn't even told the exact address so he wouldn't have been able to give it to Kaoru even if he'd managed to talk to him.
What Die didn't know was that Kaoru had moved away from the pension to a dormitory at the university where he would study after school as he thought. But when he passed by the other's house at night, a couple of weeks later, he saw that it was for sale and obviously abandoned. Not really knowing what he should do, Kaoru went back to his room and pondered. How could he get in touch with the other after his mobile had been off for more than a moth already? It was useless somehow and he thought about leaving this shithole of a town behind him and move back to Tokyo to go to university there. That was, before his father stopped paying money for him. But one day, he received a letter in which his father told him he wouldn't pay for university, that he had changed his mind.
Die's studies were going well, probably the only thing that was going right in his life right now. He poured his loneliness into studying, tried to use it to distract himself from his heartaches. He still missed the other like hell and every morning getting up was getting even harder. He had managed to save some of Kaoru's belongings and now clung onto them, as they even reminded him of all the past days. Many times he thought that he was probably pathetic, not able to move on with his life but he couldn't help it. He still loved the other all too much.
Summer came and with the passing time, Kaoru was afraid that Die could have forgotten him and had found somebody else by now. After all, the other couldn't know that he was still trying to find out where he was living now and that he still loved him with all his heart. He had to drop his dream of studying though to make a living and finally really moved back to Tokyo after ending school. But he hadn't been good enough to get a scholar-ship and thus had to work to make a living. It would take some time until he had settled everything in his life and so he decided to begin his studies the following year if he managed to coordinate school with work.
Die's good relationship with his mother was beginning to be a distant memory only. Every time he looked at her he only saw a person who separated him from the one he loved. She still hadn't even agreed to talk about it, and finally Die gave up on that too. The only thing that was left for him still was the studying. After some time his mother begun to rely on him a bit and he was even allowed to live somewhat freely and meet friends and so. That is if he'd had any friends. The time when he told his mother he'd go and see someone he just tried to frantically somehow find out where Kaoru lived nowadays. But he seemed to have vanished completely.
Although Kaoru had told his father that he had gone back to Tokyo, had begged him to tell Die about it only to let him know that he was okay, he had never heard of him so far. But one day, he got a letter from his old man where he was told that he would pay for his living if he stopped trying to find them completely. There was no sender on the letter, but the stamp was clearly readable and one could see from which town it had been sent. Kaoru's heartbeat sped up and he spent the following evenings with calling post offices, searching the internet and phonebooks to find the address where his lover lived.
Die was completely unaware of that and was slowly beginning to give up on his search. He just didn't seem to be going anywhere, and got disappointed time and time again. He was beginning to be somewhat numb, just going through everyday life mechanically. His mother saw it though, saw how her son wasn't the same happy person he had used to be. But she told herself it would pass, managed to convince herself that Die would soon forget about the happenings and move on.
His heart beating frantically in anticipation and fear, Kaoru stood in front of the house where his former family was supposed to live. He was so afraid to find out that Die didn't want him anymore, so afraid of what would await him behind that door that he didn't ring the bell instantly. After smoking a cigarette and taking a deep breath, he gathered all his courage and knocked on the door, finally ringing the bell as well.
It was pure coincidence that Die happened to be home alone right then, and he even thought for a moment that he wouldn't go open the door. Finally he heaved himself up though and dragged himself to the door, swinging it open to ask what the one behind it wanted. As he saw who it was his eyes widened, and he just froze. He had thought they'd never meet again, at least not in years, and now the other was there, really there.
"Hi," Kaoru smiled shyly and couldn't control the trembling of his hands when he saw the redhead. They were just staring at each other for some moments as if being caught inside a dream, but finally the older took a step forward and touched Die's arm. "Are you alone?"
"Yeah," Die nodded, still not believing this was happening. He stepped aside a bit to let the other in and closed the door behind him.
It was an odd situation and initially Kaoru had imagined it a bit differently. He would've just wanted to throw himself at the other, but was too insecure to just give in and follow this instinct. They hadn't seen in a long time and neither of them knew how life had developed for the other. But since Die remained silent, only staring at him with huge eyes, he had to take the initiative. "I- .. I missed you so badly." The confession was low and choked, but came from the bottom of his heart.
The words made Die smile, and finally he got a grip of himself enough to do something. Closing the distance between them he hugged the other tight, just trying to believe he was really there. "I missed you too. I thought I'd never even see you again."
"I almost lost hope as well," the older confessed quietly and buried his face in the other's neck, inhaling his scent deeply. But before he could lose himself to the sensations their reunion caused, he detached from him again. Afraid that their parents could barge in any second, he took a deep breath and looked at the redhead seriously.
"Die, I don't ever want to lose you again. And I know, there's not much I can offer you, but would you come to live with me?" In the hope that Die would agree, he had already moved again, so that his father would hopefully never find them, at least not before they both were full aged and allowed to decide for their own lives.
The words almost made tears to rise into the younger's eyes, and he was just speechless for a moment. Finally he wrapped his arms around the other's neck and dared to give him a soft kiss. "I would follow you anywhere." His heart was beating frantically, as this was all too good to be true. And he didn't want to get his hopes too high before they'd be safely out of there.
They hurried to pack a few belongings, only the very necessary, took Die's savings and rushed out. Neither of them felt like leaving a note behind as their parents would notice that Die had run away once his things were missing. Throughout all the time, they held hands, practically clung to each other and only when they were sitting safely in the train, they dared to take a deep breath of relief.
"We'll live in Kyoto, not in Tokyo anymore. I moved there when I took the decision to get you." Kaoru explained smiling and gave the other a deep kiss. "I was hoping you'd come with me and I don't ever want our parents to find us."
"It'll be hard to lose them." Die smiled, and leaned closer to the other, content as he was just allowed to rest his head on his shoulder. "But we'll live through it." He was afraid though, that their parents would get the police after them and hunt them down no matter what. But still he trusted that now that they were together things would turn out better. He twined their fingers together, squeezing the other's hand a bit.
Kaoru put his head on the other's and smiled a bit. "I am not afraid. With you, I am sure I can survive anything." He closed his eyes, contently leaning against the redhead and sighed deeply.
"Thank you. For not forgetting about me." Die smiled as well, content as he had the other near. He didn't even regret leaving his family behind, as to him it was clear who was the most important person in his life.

Gosh and if you read so long with no breaks, it's really respectable! Not an easy task XD
*big hugs back* It's really good to hear that you liked it and thank you so much for dropping a comment too! It's highly appreciated!

It really did! It's a pity that usually people don't leave comments when they read something older. It's so nice to see that even the old ones aren't forgotten :3

We have the tendency to recycle plots that have been used already gazillion times, but we can't resist them anyways and want to do our own version of it XD So glad to hear that you liked it! Despite the cliche-plot too x)
Aw, we did have a sequel planned for this but we never got around writing it somehow... Maybe we should, seeing that the story is dear for us too and it even makes ME cry every time I read it XD
Thank you so much! ♥ We really appreciate that you took the time to leave a comment :D You really made me smile!

haha, we'll see how it goes XD If we once have enough time from our other projects, I'm sure we'll give it a go ;)
Thank you! I hope you enjoy some other works of ours too!

though it is an unbelievable coincidence whereby no one but die was in when kaoru dropped by, i was glad that happened and they managed to elope to a place where they cannot be found for the time being. i hope that by the time the family can track down die, the couple has already matured to the legal age such that any charges against kaoru's "kidnapping" of die would seemed implausible.
i would love to read that planned sequel of this fic after you have complete the current ongoing project which both of you are engaged in. * only if it is possible *
then again, even if you left this fic as such, it is enjoyable on its own for the elements of an uncertain future gives your readers much to think about and explore * in wet dreams * lol... * wipes tears*

Actually, we already wrote the sequel long ago. It didn't turn out as it was supposed to, though, so we decided against posting it :/ We'd rather not spoil the story with a sequel that didn't seem to really work. There was something off in the balance how we wrote it and it brought the focus on wrong moments. But I'd still want to revise it, and maybe we manage to write those few missing parts still to get it presentable once. I at last liked several scenes it had, so it might be worth the effort :)
Thank you so much! Your comment really was awesome to read, and it's very much appreciated! :D

anyway, since this account has been shared by the both of you, how do you keep track of all these comments from older fics? LJ email notifications?
