The tiredness feels like it’s seeping all the way into Minho’s bones as he finally drags himself up the stairs and to the front door. It’s way past midnight and he’s been up for over eighteen hours so he’s more than ready to drop, immediately as he gets the bed in sight. He barely manages to get the door open as he fumbles with his keys, leaning heavily against the doorframe to keep himself upright. Finally the door opens with a satisfying click and Minho shuffles inside. The lights are out and the apartment is completely silent, save for the faint hum of the fridge in the kitchen. Minho doesn’t bother switching on the lights. He shrugs off his jacket and lets it drop on armchair as he passes it by, almost tripping over shoes left haphazardly in the middle of the floor. He’s too tired to pay any of it any mind, just kicks off his own shoes while heading determinedly towards the bedroom. Even being as tired as he is, Minho pauses for a moment in the doorway. The sight of Kibum in his bed, in their bed, is something he’ll never get tired of. Kibum is curled on his side, gripping a pillow close to himself and Minho likes to think that it’s because he’s not there to be hugged. He makes his way closer, intending on dropping face down into the mattress with all of his clothes still on, even if it’ll get him bitched at in the morning when Kibum realizes what he’s done. Minho doesn’t make it that far. As he steps next to the bed, Kibum stirs in his sleep, before sleepily blinking his eyes open. “M-ho?” he asks, squinting in the darkness of the room as he raises his head off the pillow. Unable to resist, Minho reaches for the sleep-tousled hair, slips his fingers through the soft strands. “Go on sleeping,” he whispers, trying to not break the peace of the moment. He gains a sleepy smile for it, though, and Kibum reaches up to tug on Minho’s tie. Kibum unties it easily, even when he’s obviously not properly awake, and slides it from under the collar of Minho’s shirt. The next thing he does is start working on the buttons of the shirt, his fingers barely fumbling. “Did you at least leave your shoes in the hall?” Kibum asks, his voice soft and the words slow, measured, as if he’s making sure he gets them right. He’s already worked the buttons open by then, so he slides his palms under the shirt to push it off Minho’s form. Instinctively, Minho leans forward to make it easier for Kibum to reach. “Yeah,” Minho answers, the smile stuck on his lips. His mind is still fuzzy, but now in the pleasantly hazy way instead of the all-crushing tiredness from before. He leans in and places a chaste kiss on Kibum’s lips, nuzzles their noses together as Kibum works open his belt next. “Right next to yours.” “Liar.” Kibum grins. “Mine are in the living room.” Minho laughs as he finally shuffles out of his slacks. Kibum holds the covers up so that Minho can slide under them, instantly wrapping them both in the cosy cocoon. It takes approximately three seconds for Minho to relax into the warmth, especially when he pulls Kibum against himself, skin on skin. As soon as Kibum manages to settle close, his head tucked in the crook of Minho’s shoulder, he lets out a content little snuffle. He obviously isn’t going to move an inch anymore, well on his way back to sleep. Minho stays awake for a moment longer, focusing on the steady breaths against his shoulder that make the last of tension melt off him. Right now, he can’t imagine anything better than this.
