Hello dears! I know it's been ages since the last post here, and we're both very sorry for that! It's just that the summer turned out to be more hectic than expected, and we've had too much to do and too many distractions. We'll try to get the next chapter of Spring up soonish! Meanwhile, here's a short, fluffy oneshot to kill some time :)

fonulyn: I actually wrote this ages ago, but then summer holidays came on the way and somehow the time has passed so fast that there’s been no time for anything, I completely forgot to post the stuff. But here it is now, and I hope you enjoy :) It’s pure fluff, a slow moment that doesn’t really have a plot but only focuses on the mood. And as selfish as it might sound, I like it x) So please, do enjoy!

The setting Sun was coloring the horizon with its orange glow, the warm light reflecting from the walls of the buildings, only to get sucked into the deepening shadows that seemed to hold all the light hostage against its will. It was this moment before the Sun would disappear completely, give in to the Moon for those few hours of darkness illuminated only by the silvery, pale light. Right now it was hard to imagine that, the warm rays of the Sun using the last moments as if trying to prepare everything to survive through the cold night.
There railway station seemed completely empty, and why should it not be? It had been abandoned already years ago, the electric trains replacing the old ones. Everyone had a car these days too, not that there would’ve been many people living here anyways. It was as if abandoning the old station had abandoned the whole village at the same time, life escaping from the old buildings along with the last train that rode into the sunset all those years ago. Nowadays this was just a place for stray cats and random outlaws, no respectable person setting their foot here unless it was a guided tour in the middle of a bright day.
That was exactly the reason Die was there now. He wanted to be alone, wanted some time off to think, and he knew that here was exactly where he could get it.
They had been touring the US, playing a show every night, always in a new city and never stopping into one place for longer than necessary. Until this. Until their vocalist had caught the cold of the century, maybe pneumonia, no one knew for sure since they weren’t let in to see their friend and only communicated through the translator who had been admitted into the hospital as soon as the doctors realized that the small artist didn’t speak English. Not enough to survive at least.
They had stopped everything completely, just moving their belongings into the hotel. The tourbus was like abandoned too, in the parking lot of the hotel as no one had even touched it for almost two weeks. By now they all knew that their vocalist was fine, he was going to survive and there was no immediate threat any longer. But alarmed by the recent scares with the possible pandemic, the officials were playing safe with this too. They had ordered Kyo to be kept in the hospital until the test results would come back and show them exactly what the disease was he’d been fighting.
Worry had faded, replaced by frustration and annoyance. Everything was fine now, counting out the fact that the officials still stubbornly held on to their decision and would keep the bunch in this godforsaken little town for god knows how long. Kaoru had re-scheduled everything, things had been dealt with and handled properly, and now there was nothing to do but wait.
That was exactly wherein the problem lied if one asked Die.
When he just had to sit there in the shabby hotel room, night after night, unable to sleep, the hotel’s bar being as crappy as their almost nonexistent mini-bar selection, he had too much time. Too much time to think. And yet at the same time too many distractions to focus on that properly. There was always Kaoru bugging him with a new riff, Shinya trying to force-feed him some novels he wasn’t in the least interested in and Toshiya… and Toshiya being his own charming self, always making Die forget about his contemplations.
So Die had taken it upon himself to sneak off every night, just before the sun was about to set, and get to the abandoned railway station. He couldn’t even consider it dangerous, being out there at that time, since he had never seen anyone there, had always been alone and he’d been going there every single night for more than a week. He took his cigarettes with him, a bottle of beer if he felt like it, and just sat on the pavement beside the building that had once been a busy office. He would lean his back against the rough tiles, close his eyes and let the last rays of the setting sun warm his face, the light dancing on his closed eyelids.
He wasn’t sure whether he wanted to get there to think anymore, or just to calm down and relax. He was sure though that being alone cleared his head in a way that nothing else did. With a huge sigh he glanced into the horizon, as if he could hold back the sun for a while longer and keep it from disappearing completely. He raised the cigarette to his lips, taking one last drag before just killing the remains on the ground beside him.
“Hey.”
A soft voice cut through the air, and under any other circumstances Die would’ve flinched. Not now though, not when he had basically recognized his companion already before he heard him speak. He didn’t turn his head, but one could see a small smile caressing his lips as he didn’t really mind that he wasn’t alone anymore. Maybe this was what he’d been waiting all along, although he’d thought he needed alone-time to think.
A warm presence appeared right next to him, he could see long lean legs from the corner of his eyes as the other man took a seat beside him, leaning against the wall as well. Automatically Die turned his head a bit, an honest smile appearing on his lips as he looked straight at the bassist. “Hey to yourself. So you’re following me around now?”
That made Toshiya chuckle, that so typical grin appearing on his lips, even underlined by the sparkle in his eyes. “Babe, I’m always following you around. You should know it by now.” He flashed a grin, for once not even trying to hide his braces and rather just smiled honestly, straight from his heart. “You can tell me to leave too, you know.”
Die snorted and rolled his eyes at the latter statement, and for a second they just got stuck looking at each other, the same grin mirrored on both their lips. “I never tell you to leave. You should know it by now.” He imitated the younger man’s words from earlier, instantly dodging the slap that was aimed towards the back of his head as he knew it was coming even before the other man raised his hand. It made both of them laugh, a long moment passing before either of them could suppress the rest of the chuckles.
“No, seriously Tosh, you don’t need to leave. I’m glad you’re here.” Die smiled honestly, their eyes meeting for a moment. It felt that the whole world froze for that split second, time standing still until the older of the two finally averted his gaze almost shyly. It was something in the moment that made him feel different from normal, somehow more vulnerable and open. It wasn’t a common place for them to be, not a situation he knew how to handle. Only the fact that he knew the bassist so well and trusted him with all his heart made him calm down enough not to feel uneasy.

They both got stuck just gazing towards the horizon, enjoying the silent and comfortable togetherness. Not a single word was spoken but at one point Die could feel a warm hand settle on top of his. Automatically he turned his hand, twining their fingers. It was met with a squeeze, a small affectionate gesture.
For those few precious moments they were just getting lost in the moment, enjoying the silence together. They weren’t the guitarist and the bassist of a well-known band, they weren’t rock stars, they weren’t stressed and feeling kind of lost in a foreign country. They were just themselves, two men holding hands, the setting sun being the only witness of their love. At one point Die leaned closer, resting his head on the younger man’s shoulder and closed his eyes.

My butt is freezing.” A typical Toshiya-cackle followed the statement, instantly making Die laugh as well.
Die’s eyes were sparkling as he looked up, straight at the younger man. “On one condition.” It made the bassist arch an eyebrow questioningly, but he didn’t have the time to ask anything before the older man already went on. “First gimme a kiss.”
That made Toshiya smile, and he didn’t even need to consider whether he wanted to comply or not. Gently he brought his hand up, touching the older man’s cheek with his fingertips before allowing the touch to grow more real, urging the guitarist to tilt his head a little. Playfully he hesitated, before connecting their lips in a deep, sensual kiss that was instantly responded to.
Behind them the Sun disappeared completely, delivering them into deep, sheltering darkness.
