Chapter 3
For the following days, Die's mother didn't know another topic than the new baby and she babbled about buying clothes and a rocker and what else for it soon. The two boys listened more or less patiently and more than once their gazes met and showed them the other was just as annoyed. Kaoru and Die were talking more to each other than before the breaking news as it had somehow created a bond between them.
One evening, Kaoru just came home from strolling around the streets, he found Die in the living-room in front of the TV. Their parents seemed to be out and he approached the redhead curiously. "What are you watching?"
"It's just an old western." Die smiled slightly, turning his eyes away from the screen for only a short moment. "I felt like it. Although I don't watch them much."
"Gosh," Kaoru's eyes were glued to the screen. "This is 'Once upon a time in the west'. I love that one!" In no time, he was sitting next to the younger one and they were watching the movie together. He had totally forgotten about his coolness and only enjoyed the moment.
They pointed out almost exactly the same things from the movie, and noticed soon that they liked almost all the same scenes in it the most. The moment was relaxed, more comfortable than anything they had gone through together before that.
And as it seemed, Die knew the movie just as good as Kaoru, because they recited one quote in synch. It made them laugh whole-heartedly and Kaoru turned to face his step-brother. "I had no idea you have such a good taste in movies."
"Well, we never talked about movies." The redhead grinned widely at the other. "Come to think of it, we never talked much about anything."
"Well, let me correct my statement then. I would've never thought you had such a great taste in movies." Kaoru smirked widely.
"Well, now you know." The answer came with a wide smile again. "What other movies you like?"
"Depends. There are some classics I love. Like 'Star Wars' or so. And I love Monty Python movies though none of my friends knows them. They are just too hilarious."
"I watched those like a million times." Die was instantly excited, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "But no one else ever knows them!"
"Can't be." Kaoru almost jumped off his seat. "I got the Flying Circus DVD box. If you want, we could watch them together some time." He couldn't believe that his seemingly shallow brother really liked the same kind of movies.
"Whenever you want to." The younger promised immediately. "But I guess it'd be better to watch them upstairs, since mom isn't really eager to see people lying on the couch in the living room for long."
"I see." Out of some kind of sudden enthusiasm, Kaoru switched off the TV and grabbed the other's hand to drag him up. "C'mon, we watch the first DVD right now." For the first time since they had moved there, he felt really happy and he would've never thought that his step-brother could be the reason for this feeling.
"Wait wait." Die tried to make the other let go of him. Not because he wasn't with him in this though. "I'll go steal some snacks from kitchen. You put things ready up there." With a smile he vanished into the kitchen to see what they had.
For a second, Kaoru only stood there and watched the redhead bounce off, relishing this warm feeling which he hadn't felt in a long time and which he had missed a lot. Then, he rushed up, taking two stairs at once. They only had a tiny TV in their room and Kaoru set it on the small shelf at the end of Die's bed. It would be better if they used the other's bed than his own since the window, and thus the cool air was closer.
It didn't take long and he found the DVDs which were in a still unopened box under his bed. A bit insecure, he sat down on the bed and waited for the other. Never before had he sat there, not even at Die's desk. Usually, they were avoiding touching each other's belongings.
Soon the younger one was back, holding a bowl with some sort of crisps in it. "We didn't have much," He smiled a bit apologetically, before plopping down beside the other. "But I took a bottle of coke too." He was just bouncy and enthusiastic about the DVD, not even noticing how weird it was to have the other even sit on his bed.
As they began to watch the movie, eating chips and drinking coke, they even forgot about the fact that they both had been determined to hate each others guts and Kaoru even forgot that he had taken the decision to try and seduce the redhead. It wasn't that he didn't think the other was attractive anymore. Quite the contrary. When he caught a glance at him from the corner of his eyes, the flickering blue screen creating enticing shadows on his face, he looked rather tempting in the older's eyes. It was more that now, he really began to like him and this fact made it harder to just seduce him without caring what would come afterwards. The redhead was again completely unaware of the glances the other cast his way, only concentrating on the happenings on the TV screen.
Time flew by all too fast even, as he really enjoyed himself more than in a long time. Somewhere in between, their parents had returned and Mrs Niikura reminded them gently that there was still school the next day and they shouldn't stay up too much longer. So they finished this one DVD and then quickly got ready for bed.
Both boys were smiling almost all the time and happily quoting random scenes of the movie which caused them to burst out into hysterical laughter. This evening, their usual goodnight wish sounded friendly and either of them ensured that they would watch the other movies soon.
The next day in school, Die again hung out with his friends and Kaoru remained alone. It didn't bother him, never had, but he suddenly caught himself thinking that he would've liked to talk to the other and to spend his lunch-break together with him instead of this show-offs who were good for nothing. Though they went separate ways at school, Die and Kaoru began to spend their evenings together with watching their favourite movies. It became a habit that, whenever their parents weren't home, they stole sweets and Coke and lolled on the redhead's bed, lying closely next to each other, captured by the happenings on screen.
When time passed they learned more of each other than they'd ever thought they'd even want to know. Many times after watching a movie they just remained lying on Die's bed, talking with each other sometimes for hours. First they'd only chatted of the movies, but with time the topics moved to everything else as well, and they just enjoyed each other's company. Which Die would've never thought, since he had been determined to hate his new brother who just barged into his life like that. But now he found himself liking the other all too much.
Since both their parents were fully busy with preparing things for the baby, they paid less and less attention to them. Kaoru, who was used to live life on his own, didn't bother that much, but it was hard for Die. His mother simply didn't spend as much time with him as before and it was clear that it wouldn't be better again once the child was born. It seemed as if the redhead was missing an important part of his life; and Kaoru saw clearly that he missed the attention he was used to have, too badly. So they spent even more time with each other than before. Only at home though, because at school, everything was as it used to be. Die hung out with his friends and Kaoru tried to stay for himself.
But he noticed that Die didn't go out with his crew that often anymore and instead preferred to stay at home to watch DVDs with his older step-brother. Kaoru couldn't deny that this fact made him happy and that he enjoyed those evenings to no end. Somehow Die was beginning to be bored in the company of the people he had called his friends, still did. Nothing had really changed in them, he realized, but something had changed in what he expected from them. Many times he caught himself explaining something to his clan, and just inwardly thought that Kaoru would've understood it without the need to explain. So he tried to avoid many of the meetings where his friends tried to hook him, and just enjoyed watching the movies and simply talking to Kaoru, someone he felt understood him properly.
Without either of the brothers really noticing it, they grew more and more close to each other. For Kaoru, it was a new experience to have somebody to whom he could talk about everything. Well, not really everything, but still the things that were bothering him and inwardly he took the decision to tell Die about his sexual preferences once. Then, the other could prove that he really was trustworthy. But it wasn't time for that yet.
Die didn't even realize that he was becoming more and more close to the older teen, before it one day struck him. He had just seen something on TV, and while he would've earlier went and talked to his mom about it, now he just subconsciously headed straight to Kaoru. Somehow the moment made him stop for a second, as he realized the initial hate-reaction was all gone, and the other boy was now amongst the most important persons in his life.
They had even re-arranged the room a bit and Die had made some more room so that they could have a second desk which stood against his own so that they were opposite to each other when they were studying. In Kaoru's case, this happened quite often. He still was a good student and determined to get good grades in his final year while Die was lazier, not really interested in the subjects. But whenever the redhead came into the room, seemingly wanting to talk about something, Kaoru stopped all his doings and drew his full attention towards his younger brother. The realization made him flinch when he even began to address Die as 'brother' in his mind, but then, it only made him smile.
The older one even helped the younger with his studies, after Die had collected enough determination to ask him. He had been about to fail a maths course, and that had made him get a grip as well and at least try to do a bit more so that he wouldn't get into troubles. He still hated studying, but with the help of the other it wasn't that bad, he even admitted to himself.
Kaoru enjoyed helping him with his studies quite a lot and he thought that Die really should do something about his grades. Besides, when he sat on the table, both of their heads bowed over some books, he could use the moment to examine the other's features. He had grown some kind of obsession for his younger brother, something that confused him because he didn't know if it was a crush, sexual attraction or something more serious. Maybe it was simple care, because Die had a way to make everybody want to pamper and shelter him.
Their TV evenings became something like a holy ritual after studying and always followed the same patterns. Die stole some snacks and drinks from their parents or bought some before while Kaoru was waiting for him on the bed and either skimmed through the possible DVDs or zapped through the channels to find something suitable. They had given up on only cool movies longest and watched anything together. As long as one could mock the actors or the plot, they even watched some romantic chick flicks.
It was one of those evenings again. Kaoru had taken hours to explain some mathematical equations and to knock them into Die's head, their parents were out on some official dinner from Kao's dad's work and it was so hot, that both of them only wore boxers, lying on top of the blanket on Die's bed.
Die had been getting overly frustrated with the maths until he practically begged the other that they could go on the next day and now just watch a movie or something. Finally it paid off and he sprinted eagerly downstairs to get something to eat while they would watch something nice. He was hardly able to cover the enthusiasm as he bounced back, plopping on the bed beside the other. "So, what did you choose?"
"We ran outta movies," Kaoru replied grinning and shook his head. "So we either watch one of those again, or watch this romance on TV." The grin turned into a smirk as he zapped through the channels and then stopped. They had watched their favourite movies so often that they knew them by heart and he felt like seeing something new. "Or you go to the video store and rent one."
"I won't go anywhere today." Die shrugged instantly. "I'm outta money anyways." A wide grin spread on his face and he made himself comfortable on the bed. "So it's the romance. Maybe there's something funny at least."
"Beware, it's one of those Bollywood movies, so we'll have a lot to laugh." The older snickered and just at that moment, the actors on screen began to sing and dance, the colours displaying an eye-hurting variety of bright pink, red, orange and yellow.
"Oh gosh," The redhead giggled instantly, shaking his head. "It's not even possible they mix all those colours!"
"And who please is dancing when confessing love?" Roaring with laughter, Kaoru jumped on the bed, singing like a star tenor 'I love you! I love you!' But then, he flopped down again, his naked shoulder touching Die's. Suddenly, his laughter ceased and to distract himself, he tried to focus on the screen.
"Maybe they like it better that way," Die chuckled, not noticing the sudden silence and that the other was a bit uneasy. "Some dance everywhere, and a nice song won't hurt. Or something." Kaoru's agreement was more or less mumbled as he had stuffed a fistful of chips into his mouth.
Bravely, they were watching the whole movie and although it was almost too easy to mock the ridiculous plot, they had their fun. But when it was nearing the end and the two main characters kissed after confessing their eternal love for each other, Kaoru hit his forehead with his flat hand. "Nobody kisses like that. That's just so much ... Bollywood."
"Like that?" Die arched an eyebrow curiously, not looking away from the screen though. "How should they kiss then?"
"Well," Kaoru turned his head to look at his brother, "you know. Natural. Like you kiss when you're in love. Not like that, that's for sure. If somebody would try to stick his tongue down my throat like a knife, I'd run as fast and as far as I can."
"Oh, right." The younger one tried hard not to blush, and acted like he'd know what the other meant. The truth was though that he'd never really kissed anyone like that.
Kaoru suspected it though, because the other's reaction had been a bit too obvious. He arched an eyebrow and tilted his head. "You do know what I mean, right?" Somehow he thought it was cute that his brother was so embarrassed and blushed fiercely.
"Of course I know." Die nodded a bit, taking a brief glance at the other.
"No, you don't." Kaoru answered grinning and kept his eyes on the redhead.
"Yes I do." The other insisted, trying to sound convincing.
"When was your first real kiss and with who?" Kaoru knew the other was lying and that he certainly would need a moment to come up with the answer to these questions.
"Uhm," Die obviously stuttered a bit, before gaining enough confidence to answer. "Why should I tell you that?"
"Because I'm curious." The grin on the pink-haired's face widened knowingly.
"It's none of your business." The other frowned, turning a bit away.
"C'mon, tell me." Chuckling, Kaoru pinched Die's side, totally forgetting about the movie. "Tell your brother."
"Just stop that," Die squirmed a bit. "Okay, about a year ago, with my current girlfriend. Happy now?"
"So you were fifteen? And what was her name? How was the kiss like?" Obviously, the older teen wasn't content and took delight in questioning the other.
"Her name is Yoko, and what do you mean what the kiss was like? Just a normal kiss." The younger still frowned, trying to sound like he was totally confident and telling the truth.
"Her name is Yoko? So you're still together?" Kaoru thought it was cute how the other tried to dodge the unavoidable and still stuck to his story. "And I mean just how it was. What did you feel? Look, if you take this movie kiss, it's plainly visible that there's no feelings involved." Kaoru winked grinning. "And I don't talk about love or this sentimental stuff. I talk about the feeling that comes when you just kiss somebody you like."
"No, we're not together. But she's still alive so her name still is Yoko." Die rolled his eyes, thinking of a way to escape. "And I still don't know what you mean. Hell, what do people usually feel when kissing."
"I don't know what you feel." Kaoru became a bit more serious, but was still smirking. "But it makes my heart flutter and my knees go weak, makes me close my eyes and causes gooseflesh on my skin when the other knows how to kiss and when there's just this extra little something in the moment."
"When did you get your first kiss then?" The younger tilted his head, even smiling a bit at the other. Partly he was hoping he'd be able to distract the other, but partly he was just genuinely interested.
"Trying to distract me?" The pink-haired chuckled and nudged his brother with his elbow. "Well, I was almost fifteen too when I got my first french kiss. But back then, it somehow sucked, because we both were too nervous and it was just some kind of tongue fight." He giggled at the remembrance, but didn't leave the other with his eyes. "But with more practice, it got better and better."
"Sounds like you'd had a lot of practice." Die chuckled a tiny bit. He couldn't help but to feel even envious somehow. "What was her name? The one you got your first kiss from."
"Jessica." Kaoru answered honestly. "She was an exchange student from the US and a year older than me." He bore a toothy grin at his brother and sounded a bit arrogant when he continued with a dreamy tone. "But yeah, I had quite some practice." Suddenly, he brought his face close to the redhead's and stared right into his eyes. "You never got a real kiss, did you?"
Die startled, even inching a bit backwards. "What do you mean?" He thought that there might be a tiny chance that playing dumb might still work.
"I mean that you never really kissed before. It's okay to admit it." The older kept his face where it was and nodded encouragingly. "It's only me. You can tell me. I won't spill the beans."
"Okay, I never really kissed anyone." The redhead sighed, rolling his eyes. "Happy now?" There was a slight blush lingering on his cheeks, as he felt truly embarrassed.
"Why should it make me happy?" Kaoru retreated a bit and shook his head. "It's nothing to be ashamed of." Then, something else popped into his mind and he grinned again. "So you never even had sex before either?"
"Kaoru!" Die sounded disturbed, and averted his gaze, blushing a bit more. "No, I didn't."
The older giggled and instinctively ruffled the other's hair like one did with a little boy. "Don't worry. Your time will come too."
"Yeah, you make it sound like I'm a little kid still." The redhead wasn’t able to suppress a small smile though, as the other didn't tease him in a mean way.
"I bet your friends swagger about having done it already all the time. But believe me, they probably haven't." Again, the older inched closer to the redhead, looking him seriously in the eye. "And it's nothing one should boast about. It's something one should do."
Suddenly, his heart was beating a bit faster and he couldn't tear his eyes off Die's full red lips, felt his gaze on himself corporally. Before giving it a second thought, he cupped the other's cheek with his hand and gently touched his lips with his own.
Die's heart skipped a beat, and the first instinct was to run, to push the other away and get as far from there as possible. Something kept him from doing it though, and he didn't even try to say anything, only leaned a bit closer, so that the contact between their lips became more firm, more real.
Tentatively, but with a certain determination, Kaoru parted Die's lips with his tongue and invaded his oral cavity. After the first shock had ceased, he now wanted to show the other what he had meant, wanted to give him an example lesson of the perfect kiss that indeed made his heart flutter and his insides melt. It was cute, how Die first tried to resist and then just surrendered to him, even kissed him back in an inexperienced boyish way that held more than a certain appeal to the older.
Die's heart was beating frantically all along, and he had this weird tickling feeling in his stomach he couldn't quite explain. His mind was racing, and still didn't give him any conscious thoughts. So this was how a proper kiss was like. He was practically hypnotized by the way the other's lips felt soft on his own, how he explored insides of his mouth in a gentle yet determined way. The other thing was that the other was still cupping his cheek, and the soft contact made Die oddly content even.
The kiss was slow, without any haste. After all, Kaoru didn't want to scare his brother and he had to admit to himself that he enjoyed the contact far more than he probably should have. Before they ran the risk to run out of breath, he broke the kiss, but remained close for a few more seconds, just smiling at Die and stroking his cheek. "See, now you know what a real kiss is like." Finally, he rolled on his back again and folded his arms behind his head, pretending that nothing has happened. Inwardly, he fought to calm down though, his heart racing and the tickling feeling inside his stomach still there.
The younger one was too shocked to react in any way, just staring at the other with wide eyes for a moment. "Y-you..." His voice was just a faint whisper though and he wasn't sure if the other heard him. Instinctively he brought his hand up to touch his lip softly. He felt somehow weird, but to his own surprise he more felt like smiling than to yelling at the other for this.
Kaoru had heard him, but he thought that Die needed some time to realize what just had happened, as much as he needed time to sort the confusing emotions inside himself. So he just smiled, patted the other's stomach shortly and mumbled something that it was late and he needed a shower before going to bed.
Die just stared at the other rather dumbly, not knowing how he should react, what to say. So he just let him go, and tried to sort out his own thoughts.
That night, Kaoru didn't sleep well and it wasn't because of the heat. The kiss had triggered something inside him, something that frightened him. He was falling for his brother; and although it was only his step-brother, he was still a part of the family and he was afraid that something would change between them. Now that he finally had somebody he could trust, he had ruined everything by hitting on him.
If this wasn't such a small town with the typical narrow-minded smalltown people, he might have given it a try, but he didn't want to cause troubles for Die. Yes, he had come so far already that he even feared for the other's reputation. But more, he feared that the other could despise him from now on. All these thoughts were racing through his mind and prevented him from sleeping.
The younger one didn't sleep well either. He had never really considered the other a brother, but more like his close friend or something, and now he was just too confused. Had that just been a joke? Something the other now thought back on amusedly and laughed at his inexperience secretly? He didn't believe the other had done it out of evilness though. So that left him completely clueless. And he was a bit afraid even, afraid of the confusion inside his own mind as he really didn't know what he felt, neither what he thought.
Both seemed to be determined to go on as if nothing had changed though; too afraid and confused to talk about the kiss just yet. They went to school and separated there, just as usual. Kaoru didn't dare though to ask Die if he would want to watch a movie that evening and instead went to bed quite early, unable to fall asleep though.
Die went to bed early too, but was too much troubled still to sleep at all. After a long while he whispered into the silence, his voice barely audible. "Why did you do it?" He was just curious, there was no accusation or anything in his voice.
Kaoru flinched unnoticeably but then pondered for a moment. He couldn't possibly tell Die that he had done it because he wanted to know how it would be to kiss him, how he tasted and that he wanted to see if it would make his heart flutter like he had assumed. "Because I wanted you to know what I was talking about," he answered finally which came close to the truth.
"Oh, okay." The redhead nodded in the darkness, not knowing how else to react. He wanted to say something further, but didn't know what.
"Does it bother you?" Finally, Kaoru turned to lie on his side, staring through the leaden darkness at the other. "I mean, didn't it feel good?"
"It did." Die admitted honestly. "Yeah, it bothers me. But not in a bad way necessarily."
"So you don't despise me?" For some reason, Kaoru was relieved. If Die didn't hate him, there was still a chance they could go on as if nothing had happened. Although he didn't really know if he wanted it to be like that.
"No." The answer was honest once again. The younger man didn't think anything bad of the other. Although he didn't know what exactly he thought of this, he still knew that he still liked him.
"Good." An honest smile appeared on the older's lips and he rolled on his back again. "Then will you watch a movie with me tomorrow again?"
"Of course." Die smiled as well, somehow relieved that the tension seemed to lift off.
"Dad told me that he and your mom will be gone for the weekend. Since the child's coming soon, they want to visit my grandmother in Chiba." After giving away this information, Kaoru paused for a moment. "Well- and if you don't have anything better to do, I thought we could rent a lot of movies, buy some drinks and just stay here. It's too hot to go anywhere else anyways."
"That sounds cool. Mom'll probably give us money for food and stuff anyways." The redhead was instantly smiling a bit wider, honestly liking the idea. This way he could also skip the usual hangout with his clan that had become more and more boring to him. "We could order pizza and all."
"And drink some of dad's sake." Kaoru snickered. He didn't know if Die had ever drunken alcohol, but he assumed that he and his friends didn't only stick to Coke when they were out. Before they had moved his dad hadn’t cared if he tried a bit from time to time, but since they were living in this town he had been more cautious when it came to that.
"Even more cool." Die chuckled. "So they'll be away for the whole weekend?" Somehow it felt nice to know that, since then they'd have the whole house to themselves. And it bothered Die a hell lot that he wasn't as close to his mother than he used to be. So now he'd at least get a bit time away from her.
"Yep." Kaoru chuckled. It was somehow nice to know that Die wanted to hang out with him. It was obvious that the other missed the time with his mom and as some sort of substitute reaction, he clung more and more to Kaoru. At least that was what he thought. "So maybe we should rent some porn."
That made the redhead stop for a moment. He'd never ever watched porn with anyone else this far, always managing to dodge it when some of his friends suggested it. But for some reason he didn't feel that bothered when the other suggested it. "Why not? Let's just see what we find and want to watch. We'll have a lot time."
Instantly, Kaoru wanted to hit himself. Why on earth did he have to speak before thinking? What did he think he'd watch with his brother? Some gay porn? Certainly not. He didn't mind to watch usual porn, it just would be a bit embarrassing if he didn't react the way one usually did while watching. It wasn't that he didn't like girls at all, he had had a few flings with them in the past. But lately he had realized that he preferred males and that included the kind of porn he used to get turned on.
When he realized that he hadn't said something for quite a long time, he began to chuckle. "Yeah, we have quite some time since your mom and my dad will return on Sunday evening only. A lot of time to celebrate freedom, right?"
"Right. And watch TV until our brains melt away. Poor you, then you'll be reduced to being a dumb student like me." Die chuckled merrily, already looking so much forward to the weekend and the time they'd spent together.
"So not happening." Kaoru chuckled as well, the tension inside him melting away. "It's totally impossible to become as dumb as you are."
"Hey, that wasn't nice!" The younger tried to sound hurt. "If I wasn't lying here so comfortably I'd come to kick your ass."
"And you think you'd be able to do that?" The older teased giggling. "I'd take on you anytime."
"I would. Just tease a bit more and you'll regret it." Die didn't sound very threatening though, as he simply had to yawn.
"You'd fall asleep on your way here."
"Shut up."
"Why, is mama's pet afraid to lose his credibility?" Kaoru even sat up a bit, trying to catch a glimpse at Die at the other end of the room.
"I said shut up." Die chuckled, but got up from his bed to walk to stand beside the other's. He hesitated though, since he didn't really want to even try to beat the other up or anything.
"And now?" Grinning, the older lifted his chin a bit, his eyes sparkling in the grey darkness. "Want to stare me down?"
"Maybe I do." The younger grinned as well, but then suddenly attacked the other, knowing he was at least a bit ticklish on his sides.
"Fuck!" Shrieking in surprise, Kaoru kicked his legs and tried to fight him off by slapping his hands while laughing uncontrollably. "Stop that."
"You surrender?" Die grinned madly, just tickling the other as hard as possible.
"No, never!" In a quick movement, Kaoru grabbed Die's arms and dragged him down beside him on the bed. He managed to pin him down, almost lying on top of him and then took revenge in pinching his sides.
"No, no!" The younger was even more ticklish than the other, and he tried desperately to get the other off him by kicking and swaying his arms.
Accidentally, he hit Kaoru's chin and the older used the moment to cause a big scene. Theatrically, he let himself fall backwards, releasing a pained groan and then remaining still.
Die was still chuckling a bit, but as the other didn't move he slowly became suspicious. "You dead?" He leaned a bit closer, arching an eyebrow.
Kaoru was waiting until his face was very close and then jerked up. "Boo!" Sadly, he had misjudged the distance and bumped their foreheads together forcefully. "Ouch!" Giggling again, he rubbed the spot and shook his head.
"You seem to really want to kill me." The younger teen laughed freely, rubbing his forehead.
"No, in reality I only want to show you that I'm superior, but it failed miserably." Grinning, the pink-haired dropped backwards, his head lying at the bed's end. "You surely are a bull-head."
"I know." Die smiled brightly. "But I guess I need to switch bed now unless you want me to sleep right here. I'm sleepy."
For a few seconds, the older just stared at him, but then got a hold of himself. Wrinkling his nose in pretended disgust, he shook his head. "Nah, I don't want you in my precious bed. You'll only drool on my precious sheets."
"I don't drool!" The redhead laughed. "...much."
"No use to deny it. I saw you more than once, mouth open, a moronic expression on your face and torrents of drool running from the corner of your mouth." Kaoru said giggling and shoved Die a bit. "And now go before we both fall asleep right here." The other's comment had made him feel a bit uncomfortable and suddenly he wanted him to leave his bed as quickly as possible.
"You really want to get rid of me, right?" Die chuckled still, and shook his head a bit. For some reason he felt like teasing the other and still remained sitting where he was. "And if I don't wanna move? Are you going to shove me to the floor, carry me to my bed or switch bed yourself?"
"Neither of those." Kaoru was grinning again and tried to sound as casual as possible when he continued. "I just don't want you to be traumatized, you know? I have this certain feeling..." Pressing one hand against his crotch, he released a few fake moans accompanied by some 'uhs' and 'aahs', hoping this would make the other flee. In reality, he had become oddly aware of the redhead's proximity, his scent and his bodywarmth being strangely enticing despite the enormous heat that was lingering in the room anyways.
The redhead's first reaction was to leave, but he changed his mind for some weird reason, only tilting his head and grinning at the other. "What if I'm a pervert secretly and want to watch?" He just tried how the other would react, and definitely didn't want to stay and see something he'd get traumatized of.
"Then I'd say you should watch out that nothing squirts in your eyes." Came the blunt answer. Kaoru kept his hand where it was, but mostly to cover that there was indeed something moving in his boxers. It wasn't caused by the touch, but by the other's mere presence. "So, you should be a good boy and respect my privacy."
"Okay, big bro." Die grinned. "But only because I like you so much." Finally he got up from the bed, turning towards his own.
The way he had addressed him made Kaoru smile and before he rolled on his stomach to try and calm down a bit, he wished him an especially good night with sweet dreams. Surprisingly, it didn't take too long and he fell asleep.
The younger one slept well too, as the whole atmosphere had gotten more relaxed. Plus, he was really looking forward to the weekend and the time off of their parents.

Previously happened: Against All Odds, Part 2
